Believe it or not people are gay and if they wish to get married, shouldn't they? When someone brings up this topic I know what to say, "It is their life and if they want to get married to someone of the same gender than they should. It is not mine or yours life, it's theirs, and they should be able to do what they want." Even though people say that God intends people to be straight, they are wrong. If everybody has to be straight according to God, than why is that person born like that? Every single person should have rights, but it seems to a lot of people that the highest race and gender is the white male. People are prejudiced and sexist and they think think every single on of God's creatures should be straight. I do not agree with this and others don't either. As I said is their life. Please sign and make that group of people have their rights! Thankyou! :)

I am a heterosexual woman, married to a heterosexual man. My husband and I BOTH have had other marriages before we found the 'real deal'...eachother. I feel drawn to this cause because I have not only experienced (personally) friends that are homosexual, but have also studied biology and understand that 'God's plan' isn't always heterosexual. We are an ever evolving species; I believe that 'God doesn't make mistakes' and that biology proves that there is more than one way that is the "right" way. In our ever changing world with all of the stress, challenges and divorce rate (among heterosexuals, currently), I hereby stand up and SUPPORT ANYONE THAT CAN FIND LOVE, COMPANIONSHIP, PARTNERSHIP AND LOVE, regardless of race, creed, color, and GENDER.

None of us is God and therefore we have no right to judge anyone on this earth. All of us is born with differences and we grow up to be the person, sex etc. that we were born to be. Let all of us who wish to be married, get married, have the same benefits and live life as it was intended to be lived for everyone. I sign this petition from my heart and know that this is the right thing to do. Thank you for reading this petition.

I get so incredibly frustrated when people try to argue that...people -choose- to be gay.
Why would someone choose to belong to a group that has been prejudiced and hated for years? The only way to end this is to let everyone choose who they marry, and tell those who disagree that the times are changing, get with the program.
What one person is doing does not affect another's relationship with God, and if it starts involving others' happiness and well-being there is a serious problem. That's not holy or good or godly at all; it's the opposite. Separate is never equal. If some people can get marriage recognized as a marriage and nothing else, but not everyone, then something is wrong, and will continue to be wrong until it is allowed for everyone to get their marriage recognized with the title of MARRIAGE. Not civil union or anything else.

Marriage is a union of two (or more, in some cultures) people committed to each other. Any union should be legal & recognized. If this is a land of freedom, then everyone should be free to make their own choices & free to live the way the choose. Just as no one could/would/should not make choices that limit your freedoms, neither could/would/should you make choices that limit any one elses.

Gays have the right to be married and happy like everyone else. It isn't anyone else's marriage, and thus they should stay out of it.

The United States of America is a very diverse nation of people. Through it's history the people have fought to preserve the rights of different groups of citizens. Blacks were freed from slavery. Women were given the right to vote. All in all gays or no different then any of these groups that have fought for their right to have the same equal treatment and rights as the rest of the citizens of this great nation. There is a phrase that is commonly used and is written in the Declaration of Independence it is "All Men Are Created Equal". If this is indeed fact, then what is the problem with granting gay men and women the same equal rights as everyone else? All gay couples want is to have the same basic rights and freedoms to live as who are they are and to live their lives with the person that they are in love with. What is the harm in letting two consenting adults unify their love and live as one couple? Gay men and women should continue to fight and have their voices heard till all rights are granted to us. As Dr. Martin Luther King said, "I have a dream", help make our dreams a reality, help gay men and women with gay rights and the right to marry with all the benefits that comes with marriage.

I believe we all have equal rights. I am not gay but I have no problem if gay people want to get married. If they feel love for someone and want to marry them who am I to judge. I would be devastated if I I were not allowed to marry my husband. When you get married it is a commitment you are making to your partner in front of everyone. So why shouldn't gay Americans be able to make that public commitment? I believe we are all equal and deserve to have equal rights.
