ALLOW PHONE ACCESS TO TEXAS DEATH ROW
We are asking that the recent telephone access given to general population inmates also be granted for death row inmates. The system set in place has voice recognition and can be safely controlled. Allowing death row the same phone access promotes good behavior. For every call placed, state taxpayers will be making money.
The new phone system features a number of security measures to allow officials to monitor calls. Only outgoing calls are to be allowed and those calls can be made only to friends and relatives approved in advance by prison officials.
However, TCDJ has excluded Death Row from these privileges. Please sign this petition to help us get phone access for those inmates also. These inmates are only allowed one five minute phone call every 90 days. The state can do better than that and the families of death row inmates are desperate to hear their voices. Let's all stand together for change.

Everyone should have the right to a phone call to there family,No matter what they have been put in prison for5 min every 90 day's is not enough time to say hello and goodbye...I did not know that death row inmates have such little use of a phone,and the fact of the matter is There fighting for there lives with no outlet how is that fare?other inmates have that right why not the ppl yall are gonna KILL???
It's the same prison unit in which they are incarcerated.So why are there differences being made?Different punishment doesn't mean different inmates.Other states have this service already.I hope for a change.
YES THE NEED TO BE ABE TO SPEAK WITH THIER LOVE ONES.THEY ARE HUMANS TO .STOP TREATING THEM AS IF THEY ARE NOT.GOD LOVE ALL HIS CHILDREN NO MATTER WHAT THEY HAVE DONE.PEOPLE NEED TO LET GOD TAKE CARE OF HIS BUSINESS AN HIS OWN TIME AND STOP TRYING TO DO IT FOR HIM.TRUST ME HE WILL MOVE WHEN ITS TIME.HAVE FAITH IN HIM IN HIS WORK.
A 5 minute phone call every 3 months?? Come on they are already in their cells alone all day the least you can do is allow them to talk to their family & friends. SO INHUMANE!!!
These prisoners are incarcerated for crimes which the juducial system have found them guilty. Their families have committed no crime, yet they are being punished. I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like to have a loved one in prison and not be permitted to have regular contact.
Do the right and humane and moral thing, and allow these people (not sub-humans) the right to speak to people they love.
The men and women on the row are just a human as the men and women on general population.Obviously their time is limited and their family (children) should be given an opportunity to speak with their parents. Phone privlidges would also give the men and women on the row a reason to do well and not pick up any new cases.
The men on D/R need phone privileges the same as the men in Gen.Pop.Level one guys who have no cases and cause no problems,why not reward them and it would be something for others to strive for.
Everyone deserves the right to speak on the phone to the outside world. Stop this inhumane treatment!
Treat all prisoners the same in accordance to phone privileges.
Inmates on Death Row should have the same phone privileges as the other inmates in the general population. The only difference would be that they wouldn't be lining up to make calls the phone would be rolled down to them on a trolly and the phone given to them through the bars. There is not any reason why this is not possible and these inmates not to be permitted calls is punishing their families which is not right. The families are the one's who pay for these calls not the state also as already stated tax is added so it actually creates revenue. Please give this your very serious consideration as it would mean the world to the families of the inmates and be an incentive for good behaviour.
