Tell Angie's List to Stop Ripping Off Customers

Target:
Angie's List
Sponsored by:
Angie's List claims that their $15 sign up fee is a one time fee, but they actually charge it every time you renew your membership. This is simply a lie. Not very smart for a company in the service rating business. Here's what they told me:

When a member continually renews, there is no sign up fee. If you had renewed within a month of cancellation/expiration, there would have been no sign up fee. However, because the membership has lapsed for far more than a month, there is a fee to sign you up again.

But their web site says this is a one time fee. Tell them to tell the truth!

Please tell the truth! Your website currently falsely claims that the sign up fee is a one time fee. That's not true. You should cancel this fee altogether and try being honest with your customers.

Angie's List is a rip off for contractors. I have nothing but A's on my Angie's List report, but since I will not pay high prices for advertising with them I no longer get any calls from the list. Now I find it hard to believe that people are reading my reports with excellence for a resume and yet I get no calls from this so called list? But they want to assure me that if I advertise I will get more than I can handle. Fat Chance!!! It's a scam!! Either you tell people about my excellent service and inexpensive prices, at the expense of there membership or you don't. You should not charge to put good customers with good contractors. You're getting it coming and going and IT'S NOT FAIR!!!! Will someone start a list on Angie's List.... PLEASE.
