Animal Services for the Kenai Peninsula - NOW

It is now the 21st century.
It is no longer safe for the borough's current "shoot, shovel and shut-up" policy to deal with stray, lost or abandoned domestic pet animals. It is flagerantly dangerous to at shoot dogs in School Zones! It still happens on a regular basis on the Kenai Peninsula.
Help Alaska's Extended Life Animal Sanctuary to force the Kenai Peninsula Borough (KPB) to enact nonareawide limited Animal Services.
Call Mayor Carey at; 907-714-2150 after you sign this petition and let him know how you feel about human and animal safety.
Federal law now requires the rescue and shelter of people with their pets prior to, during and following a disaster. It is currently impossible for that to happen here on the KPB!
Help AELAS protect all of the peninsula residents with pets!
The 4 dogs in the photo had been left abandoned, with no food or water for over a week, in a 8'x8' wood and wire ""Box" that did not even have a door to access the animals. It took the puppy you see that has the white on his face 4 months or special diet and supplements for his joints, to get over to ordeal!
Happily, AELAS was allowed by the Alaska State Troopers to rescue the animals. All the animals have new, loving homes! They will never have to go through that type ordeal again.
OVER 95% of these cases go Uninvestigated by the Alaska State Troopers, because the AST do not do animal control. By all these cases going uninvestigated many cases of Human abuse are also over looked.
