We, the undersigned, holocaust survivors, their children, grandchildren, and other concerned citizens, call on the Anti Defamation League to remove the reference to so called "Eco-terrorism" on their website and other publications.
Some of us are alive only due to direct intervention of brave individuals who broke the law, and opposed torture and murder. How can we oppose the much less forceful acts, aimed to stop the torture and murder of others?
If those animal rights and environmental activists are indeed "terrorists" and "extremists", what do you call those they oppose? What do you call those people who terrorize and torture living beings in their labs, telling us "don't worry, this time they are REALLY inferior, so it is ok"? What do you call the people who separate the babies from their mothers, drive the modern death transports, bully the victims to move forward towards their death, and butcher them in designated facilities for this purpose?
Reportedly, one of the individuals who carried out the raid on the head injuries lab in the University of Pennsylvania in 1981, known as "hacker", was, in fact, a holocaust survivor himself. Is he also, an extremist and a terrorist? We argue: no! He just learned a lesson from history, about dividing the world to "inferiors" and "superiors", a lesson we all need to learn, a lesson that the existence of the ADL pretends to stand for!
We call the ADL to stop looking away from the extreme violence towards the animals - and persecution of social justice activists - on the side of those who made killing into a business. We call the ADL to recognize that if there have been all together a handful of incidents in which activists engaged force in a period of thirty years - it means it is by far the most non-violent social justice movement in the history of the world.
And we insist, that those who fight abuse, torture, and murder of life - are Partisans - Today, just the way it was 65 years ago

Dear friends!
The petition "Fighting animal abuse is not terrorism" is now closed. Thank you for your support!
We honestly feel that your signature on this petition, inviting your friends to do the same, your posting of it on facebook and joining the related "cause" in the "causes" application there - gave respectable exposure to the plight of the animals, calling things for what they are.
However, though we managed to collect several hundreds of signatures, we did not manage to hit our target. Moreover, though all your signatures are valuable - we do not feel that enough of them are of the "voters base" of the ADL i.e.: survivors and their immediate family members. This prevents us from taking this list of signatures and delivering them to the ADL as a mean of pressure on them to change their position.
We would like to share with you our experience in trying to promote this issue in the media:
When a member of our activist group, an immediate kin of a holocaust survivor, sent responses to the media in Germany about the court ruling against the "holocaust on your plate" campaign - none of that media dared to publish it.
Similar attempts to publish such a response to the story in the US also resulted in NO exposure whatsoever. When a holocaust survivor HERSELF mailed an article, mentioning her support of this cause to media in Israel - NO ONE picked it up. Even not all "animal people" in the media wanted to touch that, and those who did were probably blocked by their editors.
One can argue, that a news story about the new born baby hippopotamus in some zoo is much more meaningful news for the public %u2013 not like an article written by a living holocaust survivor that writes that what we do to the animals is a holocaust, and that those who fight for the animals are partisans.
However, I think we all understand that although this argument CAN be argued - whoever argues it is a fucking moron.
A better explanation is that everybody is afraid: Afraid to admit the true nature of what is going on; afraid to %u201Cupset, educate, agitate, liberate%u201D; afraid to promote the idea that respecting survivors is learning the lesson of history %u2013 not the endless meaningless whining about how horrible it is.
Some would argue this petition was premature. But how long can we wait to speak the truth..? till there are no living survivors who will point out the grotesque hypocrisy of this society..?
Apparently, there is still some work to be done: not only of pointing things out for what they are to the public - but also to strengthening the ranks of this movement, educating our peers that refraining from speaking of and/or publishing abolitionist material means that the bad guys have managed to intimidate us, to subdue us.
Good luck, and thank you %u2013 all of you %u2013 for what you do!
