The British Broadcasting Corporation & Harwich Town Council,

We the undersigned would very much like to see the Pirate BBC Essex broadcast be made into an annual event. The 2007 broadcast was a great success for yourselves and radio fans across the globe, original pirate fans and newer younger fans alike.

It could be expanded into a Pirate themed carnival/festival type of affair which would be great for Harwich and the local area in general, we're sure local charities would also benefit. We would all look forward to such an event every Summer!  With the offshore broadcast, of course...... possibly from the Ross Revenge ;)

If you are impressed with the response to this years event (and we know you are), give it more publicity in future and we guarantee you will be blown away with the turnout.

The atmosphere surrounding this years broadcast was absolutely amazing....and it's global! All us pirate/radio/offshore fans and, we're sure, all the DJ's are more than willing to make this happen.

Please take this seriously, the sooner the better, whilst all the original fans and most of the original pirate DJ's are walking this Earth. It was the gathering of the golden pirates that made this broadcast so special.

BBC and Harwich Council, thank you very much for taking the time to read this letter.

The Beeb did a good job in putting this event on however it is something that everyone needs to remember what the pirate stations stood for. We thank the offshore radio stations to give us the stations we have available to us today so an annual celebration to relive those memories would be a good thing. It's now kind of historical but needs to go into the history books as a major change to everyones radio listening habits. Therefore long may it continue. Tony

I know that I am prejudice since I am a former "pirate" with SRE, but I truly think that the UK needs to be reminded of where current radio formats came from. Thanks for the broadcasts in the past and I hope to be able to join in again next year.

Great to hear all the lads again. Are the BBC scared it's more popular than the run of the mill stations we are forced to listen to today. Was it them who blocked all the old pirate the jingles this time?

I have been at Harwich during the Events of Pirate BBC Essex and enjoyed very much. I think, Pirate Radio is a very important event in the history of radio itself and should be remembered in the most lifely way.
