In 2007, Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, supposedly an artist, took up an abandoned dog in the street, attached it with a very short string to the wall of an art gallery and let it slowly die of hunger and thirst.

During several days, the author of this cruelty, just like the visitors of the art gallery, observed impassively the anguish of the poor animal until its death by inanition after having gone through a painful, absurd and incomprehensible martyrdom.

This is not all: the prestigious Centroamerican Art Biennal decided, in an incomprehensible way, that the brutality of this individual was "art" and consequently, Guillermo Vargas Habacuc was invited to repeat the cruelty in the 2008 version of the event.

It is absolutely disgusting that this happened, even more so in a public area!!! Everyone who went to that exhibition should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves because they are heartless and I only wish that they suffer in their future, that they experience pain, pain for no reason, for participating in such an atrocious act. How any person would be able to place the name of 'art' on this is not only disturbing, it makes me wonder what kind of deranged people live amongst us. To the artist, I can only imagine that your original art work is so terrible, so untalented, so uncreative that you have to cross a 'barrier', be seen, create controversy, torture and kill a harmless animal just to be noticed. Art is in no way defined by such acts. Art is something beautiful or amazing or mysterious. It is in no way torturing a dog.
