Ask Noodles & Co (@ Mall of America) To Stop Using Plastic

Target:
Noodles & Co. Corporate Office
I am happy to report that Noodle & Co. has chosen to stop using plastic dishes & silverware at their Mall of America location. Thanks to everyone who cared about this cause and took the time to sign the petition. --
Here is what was sent to me from Noodles & Co.--

We greatly appreciate the passion, care and concern you have for the environment. We also believe in doing good by the planet, and that's why we serve our dishes on real china and with real silverware at our 214 locations nationwide. It dramatically cuts down on waste and provides an overall nicer dining experience. Because we are in a mall location, we decided to serve on our to go dishes because we thought people might want to bring their food to the food court if a friend was ordering at another restaurant. We thought it was a convenient option. Now that we've been open for a month or so, we have found that most people are staying to dine with us so we're moving to real china and silverware TOMORROW(July 9, 2009). I hope this is good news to you and the other concerned individuals on your petition.

Hearing the use of plastic i have lost all interest in buying anything from noodles and company. Me and everyone I know will not set foot in there until this is solved.

Do not lower your expectations to qualify as a "food court" eatery...your customers are used to your level of service (which does include what your food is served on). And please do not assume that everyone will take food out of the restaurant...your establishment has always been a sit-down / eat-in service. The vast majority of customers will respect that. I have been a customer since your company first came to Minnesota, and have mixed feelings on this "difference" at MOA.

I agree with the statements on this petition. It is absurd to be using all plastic utensils/bowls. The production of plastic uses water, energy, and creates waste, as does the disposal of it. The establishment is clearly not part of the food court. If people begin taking them out there you could address that at that time.
