HELP STOP LIVE EXPORT CATTLE CRUELTY IN INDONESIA

AUSTRALIA'S LIVE CATTLE EXPORTS TO INDONESIAN ABATTOIRS ARE ABOUT TO RESTART WITHOUT GUARANTEED WELFARE IMPROVEMENTS NOR MANDATORY USE OF STUNNERS TO ENSURE A MORE HUMANE, UNCONSCIOUS SLAUGHTER. The Australian Govt recently bowed to pressure from the cattle industry and overturned a temporary ban on live cattle exports to Indonesia after an enormous public outcry in the wake of the screening of "A Bloody Business" video on www.abc.net.au/4corners
Please join the international call to end this brutal trade and, in the interim, ensure that the  welfare and safety of these animals is guaranteed. For more info see www.banliveexport.com, www.animalsaus.org or www.rspca.org
I/we note with concern the imminent resumption of Australia's live cattle export trade with Indonesia, however we are not confident that the welfare of these animals will be guaranteed by the processes you are putting in place. Please make stunner use mandatory or ban this inhumane trade - it is unethical and wrong for Australia to send animals to such a fate as we witnessed on Four Corners
