Australia, keep your word. Stop Japanese whaling!!!
The Transparentsea initiative, needs your help to remind the Government of Australia to uphold its election promises to do everything within its power to stop Japanese whaling in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary and Australian Antarctic territorial waters.
This Government promised the Australian public to support the well researched case for taking Japan to ITLOS (the International Tribunal for Law of the Sea) and yet, as Japan is escalating its so called 'scientific' whaling to include endangered Fin whales, the Government clearly has backed away from upholding Australia's contemporary stand on behalf of cetaceans.
Once we gather enough signatures, we plan on sending all entry's to the Government of Australia to reflect the will of people worldwide and show sovereign fortitude, by taking the strongest possible action against whaling, over and above the limited and often ineffectual process of 'diplomacy'.

I recently watched the documentary "The Cove", and it made me want to be apart of stopping all the killing that's taking place to these thousands and thousands of Dolphins and Whales. What the Japanese are doing is cruel! It has to come to an end, now! I am so deeply passionate about this subject and would like to help in whatever way possible!
We are killing our amazing world. We must stop now! I'm a biologist and I would like to do more to protect nature against men but sometimes political affairs are bigger than us...
The sight of endangered Minki whales (mother and baby) being dragged still fighting for life onto that Japanese whaling boat sickened me to my core, it is ethically wrong and totally demoralising as a human race i am sending this to everyone i know, lets stop this now
It's high time to put the value of honoring all life before the quest for money and self-gratification. Wake up people!!! We share this planet with other sentient beings that may look different from our human form, but are no less divine and have an equal right to freedom and life on this planet.
With much hope and respect I ask that you please put aside any political or 'diplomatic' agendas and take a stand to represent not only the people of your country but all the compassionate people in the world who feel powerless if not for petitions such as this. If the senseless and barbaric slaughter of these highly intelligent,beautiful,sentient creatures is not stopped,someday all that will be left is regret and a profound sense of loss and sadness that diminishes us all. IF NOT NOW,THEN WHEN?
I am a young father of two children and all I hope for is that my children and their children get to experience beautiful creatures like whales in their natural habitat as I have.

I completely trust in your word- that you will do everything in your power to stop Japanese whaling in The Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary and Australian Antarctic territorial Waters. I am a firm believer in stopping this atrocity. Responsible fishing practices should be mandatory.

It should be a welcome change of pace to encounter such a straight forward issue in this world of complicated problems. I hope that we are all still sensitized enough to see, feel, and KNOW what needs to be done NOW.
Japan are in our waters ruthessly killing beautiful marine life and our government is doing nothing to make this stop. Come on Rudd get into action and stop the killing.

I think the work& effort being put foward by the people involved is fantastic not to mention courageous.
Saw the COVE and wanted to simultaneously cry and vomit. So sad that they are still allowing this disgusting "tradition" continue.
