BAN Electronic Cigarettes!!!

Target:
Smokers
Electronic cigarettes are being lauded as the "life-saver" for cigarette smokers everywhere. They claim to be clean, save lives by helping people quit, and taste good too! Sounds like a miracle. Gues what? They aren't. These are a very dangerous product. They have not been evaluated by the FDA and so no one knows what is really in these things. There is an unregulated amount of nicotine in them, which could lead to MORE of an addiction and there are reports of chemicals in them that are used in such things as anti-freeze. Another huge problem is the availablity of electronic cigarettes to children! The FDA just banned flavored tobacco in September of 2009. But loo and behold all of a sudden flavored e-cigs suddenly come along to replace that niche in the market. Several stores have been caught selling e-cigs to minors and that is a sad thing. These products are just like the candy cigs, bubble gum cigars and chololate cigars that used to be marketed to youngsters. They are a gateway to a lifetime of addiction later in life. One of the hardest habits to break for smokers is the oral fixation, so now they are offering a product to foster this??!! This is not a smoking cessation product, it has not been evaluated by the FDA (who saves our lives from dangerous products), and they could lead our childen into a lifetime of addiction. Sign my petition if you agree electronic cigarettes need to be banned until they are regulated by the FDA and after they are, they need to be sold in the same manner as regular cigarettes and not at kiosks in malls.

I am pleased to only see a whopping 23 signatures here. I am quitting tobacco products by using this high tech device. a tobacco cigarette contains 4000 ingredients and 60 of them are cancer causing. Extensive independent tests have shown e-cigarettes to not contain dangerous carcinogens. Check out the Electronic Cigarette Association before signing this.

Not only are these products being marketed as a safe alternative, but they are also enticing to children. The FDA has already shown them to be hazardous, and, since they are made in China, we must all be very leery of what quality control measures are used in their production.

Get these electronic cigarettes out of the mall and away from my children.

the only opposition to these cigarettes are from ex smokers who for some reason felt like they had to give up but didn't really want to. There is no-one more pious than an ex smoker. I can now go and visit my nan and dont have to leave the room every hour or so to have a cigarette, she tells me there are no fumes or smell at all, I breath easier and dont stink as a result of 'digital' smoking. Children are as much in danger from normal cigarettes as from these digital type, I started smoking as a child after all by stealing my older brothers! It's down to the parents to be aware of the dangers.

I have tried everything it seems... patches, gum, drugs and nothing has helped me quit smoking. One week using an electronic cigarette and i have no desire for cigarettes! My desire for nicotine has been reduced, i can breathe easier, i feel better overall and my skin looks healthier. I am so thankful for this product!
