I support the Federation of Humane Organizations of W.Va which is sponsoring a bill that will ban the use of carbon monoxide to euthanize animals. Please eliminate the prolonged and painful death of animals, who by no fault of their own, end up in West Virginia county run animal shelters. Please support SB501 which will forbid the use of gas chambers to euthanize animals in W.Va.

Animals don't deserve this any more than it appears that the justice system in this country feels that the people on death row in the state prisons do not deserve this. I'm sure that most of these animals have not raped or murdered anyone. Their only crime is having been abandoned or left homeless or lost and not yet found. I think that they deserve as much consideration as a human being on the issue of life or death. Why not take away the plush life of people like Charlie Manson, etc. and use the bucks to pay for their amenities to pay for food and shelter for something that really hasn't committed a crime?

Animals feel pain, fear, joy, sadness, loneliness, probably all the things a human feel, animals feel too... Killing animals by gassing them, is horrible. They are aware of everything we do to them and it is shameful that, in the 21st century, people still find it ok to kill animals. It is not ok to kill animals as a solution to overpopulation... and if you do, then ATLEAST!! give them a PAINFREE!! death..
