Glue traps are without a doubt one of the cruelest pest control devices on the market. These ghastly devices consist of a plastic, cardboard or fibreboard tray with a silicone adhesive coating which is designed to catch and hold rats and mice.
Animals caught on these traps often suffer for days before dying of starvation, dehydration and shock. Some animals resort to self mutilation and chewing off their limbs in a desperate attempt to escape.
Glue traps are also a danger to other animals including lizards, small snakes, native rodents, birds and even companion animals, which frequently fall victim to these torturous devices.
Sadly, Globe Australia Pty Ltd, a supplier of pest control products is continuing to sell and/or market these cruel devices. Please sign this petition to urge Globe Australia to stop selling rodent glue traps.

Can you imagine what suffering these living, breathing creatures (though considered pests) they still are God's creatures and deserve a more humane way, live traps are best to let them go to live their little mouse lives!

This product is inhumane. There are humane alternatives.

I purchased some glue traps last night because it met my two requirements, A)Cheap and B)Got rid of mice. When I get off work they will all be thrown out and I will be buying something else. It did indeed catch a mouse. But is also one of the most inhumane and disturbing things I have ever heard of. It almost instantly caught a mouse, but then what? We pulled the little guy off, but it ripped all of his fur off and I'm sure injured if not broke 2 of his legs. It was either that or he starved in our trash can. Absolutely awful and anyone that uses them should be ashamed of themselves. Even in a trap I still stand on a chair for fear one little mouse might "get" me, but I'd rather invite them to my bed than ever use one of these again. Come on.

These traps are disgusting. Try waking up in a friends house and noticing a mouse on the floor that isnt moving. Once you go towards it it still dosnt move. And now you notice that it is stuck on a sticky substance that some sick person decided to invent. Better yet you and the neighbor hood child try to save the poor thing and once it is off of the disgusting sticky surface its mouth is now shut closed because of the glue. All you can do is cry for the suffering of this poor "pest" because not only did it suffer a slooooow death the neighbor kid starts crying and says " I just wish it could have been a bigger mouse so at least it would have enough strength to open its jaw so it could eat"

What kind of person would come up with such a cruel method of eradicating pests? Has the human race stooped that low? Surely there is a more humane way to get the job done effectively.

I only learned of glue traps recently when I was told that a pest controller used them to trap a rat in the ceiling where I work. I could not believe my ears when I heard what type of trap this was and could not think what kind of person would use such a device to kill an animal, no matter how much of a pest it is to humans. Now that I have learned more about these traps, I am astounded and appalled that any company could manufacture, sell, distribute or use such a device that causes such an horrific death to any creature. I am signing this petition because I believe that there are so many better and faster and more humane ways to exterminate pest vermin which do not impact other small animals inadvertently, and I believe that anyone who would use a glue trap to catch and eventually kill any animal would be capable of almost anything. It is absolutely one of the cruelest things I've heard of where animals are concerned, and is to me the equivalent of when I hear of those poor excuses for human beings that torture and maim and kill kittens/cats and puppies/dogs just for the fun of it. Please cease the sale and promotion of these glue traps immediately and stand up as a decent Australian company that respects all life.
