Ban the Transporting of American Horses for Slaughter!

It is not enough that the three horse slaughterhouses in the United States have been closed. Now we must further act by stopping the transportation of American horses to Canada and Mexico to be slaughtered there for human consumption in other parts of the world.
We Americans do not eat horses and we should not send them out of
our country to be butchered and eaten by others.
The American public has overwhelmingly opposed the slaughter of America's horses for human consumption and now the courts have declared horse slaughter to be illegal. While horses will no longer be butchered in the U.S. they can be hauled under appalling conditions to a similarly brutal death in plants across the U.S. border. Congress must pass federal legislation to extend the protections to all horses and to send a clear message to those few who profit from this barbaric trade.

I am so tired of our horses being treated like this. They are American history and look how they are being treated. I resent them being inhumanely slaughtered just to be on some European's dinner plate. Disgusting and shameful. Please do the right thing and end this. |
