Banning Teen Marriage in Mauritania

Teen marriage is a normal practice in Mauritania, in some places it is a sign of prestige to have a teen or in some cases a child wife, some men are bragging about having wives younger than their own teen daughters, this practice is legal in a country were more than half of population is living under the poverty limits, some families are willing to give away their daughters to any man willing to take care of them, even knowing that there is no insurance that the daughter may comeback home pregnant after few weeks. Please urge the Mauritanian legislators to ban marriage of girls under 18 years, and to wave the right of the parents to force girls into marriage.
