The life for dogs in puppy mills are very sad. They are forced to live in cramped, filthy conditions with little or no vet. care. These animals spend their entire lives in steel cages never knowing what its like to roam free. Puppy mills are located outside so animals face the hottest heat and the coldest cold with no shelter. They are forced to constantly breed until they can't anymore then they are killed or abandon. Dogs suffer from diseases and abnormalities. Banning puppy mills will also help homeless animals who deserve and need homes find them! Please help stop this cruel Industry! Dogs in puppy mills are treated like machine when really they are like us and just want to be loved ! Please help stop the suffering!!

What I'd love to see is one of the mill owner's loved ones crammed into a tiny, filthy cage and forced to give birth over and over until they are unable to produce, and are put down or die in fear, pain, and lonliness never knowing that the world is full of those who would have loved and cherished them.

I don't like puppy mills.
There are far too many unwanted pets as it is. We don't need someone breeding and mistreating them in order to make more to fill our shelters with.
Puppy mills are a disgusting and inhumane business. They are not interested in the animal. They are only interested in the money they are apt to make when they sell them. The animals deserve better.

It's disgusting that people are allowed to profit from the suffering of animals. Many people don't even know that their pets came from puppy mills. Doesn't that qualify as false advertising? Puppy Mills should be banned and the people that operate them should have to do time in jail (not a simple fine or community service - JAIL)

With the enormous numbers of dogs and cats killed each day in shelters, we should easily be able to see that we don't need large scale breeding of ANY type of companion animal. Millions of purebred animals are needlessly killed each year and these only contribute to the problem. Puppy mills are horrid places of abuse and suffering. The breeding animals are continually caged, continually breeding. Neither of these things is good for the animal's health or well-being. They all need to close! |
Please do something to stop this atrocity. Dogs kept in these squalid conditions, especially the ones kept constantly pregnant, have been known to exhibit neurotic behavior all the way to abject insanity. The cages and confinement are torture to even witness. Please, if you can, ban these torture chambers for good.

Puppy mills are inhumane and should not be allowed to exist. We just had one exposed in my state and it was HORRIBLE what those poor dogs suffered.

I manage our local SPCA and have come across several cases of what I would consider "puppy mills" These animals are thought of as nothing but money making machines! Some are found in good body condition but are living in deplorable, unsanitary conditions. Because the animal is in good "body" condition it makes it extremely difficult to prosecute the people running these puppy mills.
Puppy Mills should be banned!!!
I am urging you to help put an end to puppy mills. This would include stricter laws for individuals that treat animals inhumanely. This would also include large fines and jail time for people who violate animal rights.

Please ban puppy mills. They are horrific hell holes. Breeders need to be restricted to a few responsible ones and need to be constantly checked for compliance of regulations. Regulations should be set up for all breeders and any who do not comply need to be charged to the fullest extent of the law. Laws have to change to protect our companion animals. They are not property, they are living, feeling mammals that need love, affection, proper care and a voice from those of us who care.
stop the breeding of animals that are taken away from their mothers too soon,not finished nursing, means sick unhealthy dogs that hopefully get sold at a ''pet shop''.the buyer if they can afford the vet bills have a sick animal for how ever they the buyer keep them. Puppies are sentient creatures. They feel pain and they suffer like any living creature when they are mistreated. Please understand that puppy mills cause psyical and psychological suffering to these innocent creatures. Such cruelty cannot be justified and therefore must be shut down.
Puppy mills are run by those who do not understand the harm their actions cause. There is a level of ignorance there when it comes to compassion for a living creature. Puppy mills are therefore both cruel and an example of cruelty and ignorance.
How can this be allowed in our country? This is legal? Stop playing with the animals lives, if we don't want to live like they do, they should not have to, either.

There are so many wonderful pets to adopt, don't buy from a Mall store, they just care about $$$ not the animals.

I believe that puppy mills are just horrible places! I got my first Yorkie from a woman who was trying to breed him with any breed possible and he wasn't even a year old and he wasnt interested so she said that she had to get rid of him because she was "least attached to him." We had taken our dog to the vet just a week or two later and the lady was in the vets office with a box more of puppies. The dog quivered when he saw her again. It's horrible what people are able to do to their animals! I think it's rediculous that Puppy Mills aren't being shut down all over for animal abuse. That makes no sense to me.
