Increasing options for public transportation can only make this city stronger - it can only make Brooklyn stronger. It is, in fact, the distinct signature of New York City.

Thank you Heather for everything you are doing to get ferry service. This is something we need to make Bay Ridge an even better place to live.

A commuter-hours starter program would be a low-risk (with potential big-benefit) initiative.

The BAT ferry is a brilliant alternative to the subways and buses, which can frankly be a bear from Bay Ridge. In traffic, the bus can take 1.5 hours to midtown and when the subways are out of sync or crowded, easily an hour to midtown. The ferry is 15 minutes to the pier, and from there we have a multitude of options. Not to mention I use the ferry in the evening in the summertime as a pleasant alternative to underground trains and smelly buses. It's a beacon of light in this city, and I pray we get it back!!

My husband spends so much time with problems on the N and R line on the subway. This could easily help him get to work and back home faster.

This would be a great service to Brooklyn and the city in general. When I was a kid we took this to Manhattan all the time just for fun. Also rush hour traffic would lessen since you can connect to so many subway lines downtown. Thak you, Ed Huml

Not only would ferry service increase tourist travel to Bay Ridge BUT it would provide another really efficient way for Bay Ridge residents to commute to work in Manhattan.

Since my grandson was born & lives in Bay Ridge with my daughter & son-in-law, I have been visiting Bay Ridge from Manhattan weekly... and ferry service would be fabulous! Please give this very serious consideration. Thank you, Valborg

If the mayor would like congestion pricing we need better public transportation FIRST! A new ferry would be an alternative to the (N)ever and (R)arely trains, and the always late x27 and x37.

It would be so wonderful to have a ferry again. We need alternatives for transportation into Manhattan. The ride would be spectacular and fantastic for children.
