Palestinian Mothers and we, the undersigned, in an expression of our dismay and disgust with the decision of the BBC, would like to put our names to the:   LETTER SIGNED BY TONY BENN, CELEBRITIES, MANY OTHERS To Sir Michael Lyons, Chairman of the BBC Trust, Mark Thompson, Director General of the BBC, Caroline Thomson, Chief Operating Officer for the BBC   The International Committee of the Red Cross say that conditions for the people of Gaza are "worse than Darfur" but the BBC refuses to allow the Disasters Emergency Committee to broadcast an appeal for aid.   We agree with Government Health Minister Ben Bradshaw, who says the reasons the BBC has given for blocking an appeal for humanitarian aid are "completely feeble" and it was "an inexplicable decision".   We urge the BBC to reconsider its decision and to contact the Disasters Emergency Committee as a matter of urgency so that its appeal can be broadcast nationally. Not to do so is to deny relief needed immediately for people suffering catastrophic and life-threatening conditions.   Tony Benn, President of Stop the War, says, "To deny the help that the aid agencies and the UN need at this moment in time is incomprehensible. I appeal to the chairman of the BBC Trust to intervene to reverse this decision to save the lives of those who are now in acute danger of dying through a lack of food, fuel, water and medical supplies."

The BBC is expanding it's coverage into the US and seems to be also expanding it's pandering to Israel and it's massacre in Gaza. Why is the BBC not reporting the suffering of Gaza and asking , in it's reporting for humanitarian aid to be sent to Gaza? Is a news organization not indebted by it's journalistic credo to report crimes against humanity.asking for aid to such victims and furthering the broadcast news concerning the need for humanitarian aid to areas where human suffering is ongoing without relief? BBC anchors, US affiliates with National Public Radio decried the rocket attacks of Hamas into sderot loudly enough and without relent during the Israeli invasion of Gaza. Why, is this an apology for Israel by an international news agency. Is the BBC a Zionist news organization or just news? Please accept this urgent plea to broadcast all calls for humanitarian aid, whether emanating from African nations, or from Palestine's impoverished prison bantustans. Life is short and we have only so many opportunities to do good in the name of journalism. We ask not for anything but to broadcast our pleas for help in opening the borders of Gaza so that reconstruction can begin. Your reputation is at stake and if you boycott Palestine, Palestine will boycott you in your time of need. Great Britain may, at some time in the future need Muslims to come to their defense and lend a hand in dispelling violence or chaotic and unruly protests. Why take the chance that in denying equal time and equal rights to Hamas and Gaza, you blow back into your own face that same gut wrenching pain that comes when a major news venue, denies that you have been wronged and offers no condolences for your losses. Is the BBC too big, too important and to strong that it sees not it's hippocracy and makes the necessary amends? We await your letter of remorse for being so callous concerning the abuses of Israel in Palestine and will remit in kind our gracious thank and praise for your understanding.jerry gates

It diminishes the humanity in all of us to allow this slow genocide in Palestine to continue for over 60 years and it is impossible to understand the mentality of the nation who, more than any other nation understand the meaning of injustice and persecution, to perpetrate it on another people. Shame on those Israelis who are part of this killing machine and do not raise their voices against it.

I am disgusted by the actions of this tyrannical group of zionists. These people in palestine need help now and have suffered enough. I look forward to seeing this zionist government collapse and it's perpetrators, murderers, and liers who control our media punished for their evil actions. I can't wait to see them crushed.

In a time of such great suffering and deprivation as that which exists in Gaza the BBC can instrumental in the relief effort by lifting the their block on the appeal for humanitarian aid. If care and compassion are the highest capacities of human consciousness then any action by the media which undermines humanitarian efforts must be considered debased and subhuman.

I write as a UK subject and BBC licence payer. How dare the BBC which is a PUBLIC broadcasting organisation make what is a political decision regarding a humanitarian question? A child injured or killed in an armed conflict is no different to one affected by an earthquake.

These people have been suffering for 60+ years and when you come to think of it, the BBC decision is only a grain of sand in an extremely deep ocean of injustice. Most of the world has been backing this crime against humanity for decades now. Coming to our senses every now and then is not good enough. As citizens of the world, we should demand that those who commit acts of "terror" are ALWAYS brought to justice regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, color, gender... BBC is biased alright but, how about the UN? How about the EU, the US and the UK? How about Egypt? How about the rest of the Arab World? How about those politicians who only know how to talk the talk? How about those celebrities, journalists and other public figures who pretend to be true humanitarians when it comes to issues with great advertisement value (i.e.: Mr. George Clooney's super sensitivity towards the atrocities in Darfur or Oprah Winfrey's "commitment" to charity); where are they now? Not one "artist" said a word during those lavish award shows... I am sad that BBC would go out of its way to prevent even a penny's worth of aid from reaching Gaza but definitely not surprised at all by such actions.

Please for the sake of all the children that are so innocent in this world, do the right thing for everyone, stop the lies, the hatred, and the wrongdoing. Spread the love that was meant for all of us here on Earth! Tell the truth BBC, all media for public viewing is paid off, but you need to "fess" up and stop the lies, now!

The bias of the BBC is unbelievable...or is it? Many see a Jewish fraternity influence . The BBC must and should be ashamed. Queen Elizabether 11 is your overseer, and yet you continue not to uphold the ethical values that her Majesty represents. People are now speaking out and asking for the BBCs accountability for it`s erronous failure at airing appeals for aid in Gaza. The world is watching you closely, do the right thing and apologise for your bias and use some of the valuable air time to seek aid for the men, women and children of Gaza, the very existance of the BBC would not be possible at all if it wasn`t for the United Kingdoms TV Licence payers. Indeed, BBC, you recieve millions apon millions of £s` per year of UK subscribers money. And yet you refuse to listen to the very people that keep you in business.

I feel sad to say that I am forced to contribute by way of a TV licence to the assistance in silencing the plight of the children and mothers in Gaza. In such horror and due to the lack of care from our own government and BBC, I left my children and drove over 6,000 miles to give aid to those who the BBC wish to remain silent about, for whatever reason. All I can say is shame on our government and shame on the BBC (what an honour that was for me though)

The BBC does not seem to represent the wishes of its license payers. Perhaps there should be a vote from the BBC TV licnese paying public to see what percentage would have like the appeal for Gaza to have gone out. One thinks that the vote for the appeal would be in the majority. The BBC does not seem to be representing the wishes of its paying public. Who is really in control at the Beeb?
