Betty Crocker, Bring Back Grape Fruit Roll-Ups!

I don't remember the year.  It could have been 1993.  Or maybe 1994.  I was a little kid who loved soccer, pepperoni pizza, and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper.  Oh, and Grape Fruit Roll-Ups.  And Grape Fruit Roll-Ups...
I remember sitting in the backseat of my father's Mitsubishi Sigma.  My dad drove, my mom was in the passenger seat, and my teenage sister, well, she lifted her head from a Grisham paperback and asked all of us, "Do you really have to go to another grocery store?"
My parents were my co-conspirators. I had somehow convinced them that it was a worthy cause to drive all over Dallas, Texas in search of an elusive box of Grape Fruit Roll-Ups.  The delicious treats were long gone from Memphis, TN, my hometown. Could they be, gasp, off the market?  My young mind didn't dare accept that pronouncement.  My family was in Dallas visiting some friends, but in my mind it was fruit-rolled fate.
But we didn't find them.  We didn't find Grape Fruit Roll-Ups.  In 1996, I signed onto AOL and emailed Betty Crocker.   I asked Betty, or the corporate face of Betty anyway, about what happened to my long-lost favorite snack.  To her credit, Betty Crocker responded, letting me down gently.  Apparently the markets had changed.  Grape didn't sell.  Or something like that...
As of Friday November 15, 2008, I've chosen to raise my digital baton once again, albeit this time more aggressively.  This time, I will not send one email to Betty Crocker.  I will send a petition.
I know I'm not the only one out there who misses Grape Fruit Roll-Ups.  I know I'm not the only one who has stories.  Please share yours here.
Let's do this, people.

Hey just wanted to agree with this petition, I too as a child remember those great flavors like the apricot, and grape fruit roll ups! these weird and awful flavors that you guys are coming up with now are in my opinion, are disgusting!!!! Please, even if for a limited time, give us the apricot, and grape fruit roll ups!!

I MISS THEM AS WELL! I never knew what happened, and for the past 12-15 years, I've always asked what happened to them :(. They were my favorite as well! I hate the new flavors, if they brought back grape for a "limited time," I'd buy every box that came in every grocery store. I don't see how people were choosing other flavors over grape! My whole family LOVE(d) grape fruit roll ups! BETTER CROCKER, PLEASE PLEASE bring them back, at least for a limited time if you must! :(

My husband is a true grape fruit roll up lover. Back in high school I remember him eating 2 or 3 every day at lunch. When he joined the US Navy I use to put them in his goodie boxes. Ater a few years of this, it got to the point where they became hard to find. When I did find them, usually in a hole in the wall store, I bought them out. BRING THEM BACK!!!!!!!
