Our society is based on capitolism and competition the big three claims that they can not supply vehicles that are green and competitve. Why should we bail them out when foriegn auto manufactures have begun to respond to the changing market they should be able to do so also. Back in the 1940's when Tucker invented a new auto the big three decided they did not want to compete with his inovative ideas and did everything in their power to destory him and succeded. Why should we feel sorry for them now? If they do not get bailed out those jobs will switch to the competitors that are left supplying us with autos that are green, inexpensive and dependable.

Before giving the automakers, or the financial industry for that matter, any federal funds, the minimum requirement should be for the top management to repay their unconscionable bonuses for the last 5 years, reduce their salaries to a reasonable level and eliminate all the perks they receive. They should also present a viable plan for turning the companies around before being given any money, otherwise it is just throwing the money away. It is outrageous to give a few companies $17.5 billion with no requirements. Plus

Are import companies asking for money? No. They know how to make it. Besides this is blackmail. If european and japanese and korean manufacturers asked for money that would be insane. Imports that are made in the U.S. employ lots of americans.

I say no more the Great American Heist must come to an end. Now other automakers are putting their hands out. Apparently, our government thinks that money grows on trees, and we are the trees.

Another Bail-out? NO-NO-NO! I am so incredibly OUTRAGED at these bail-outs, especially for Big 3 Auto-makers, who have always conducted their business to IGNORE needs of the public while paying themselves INDEFENSIBLE SALARIES, BONUSES & BENEFITS. And of course lobbying endlessly against anything that could possibly threaten that. This latest demand that taxpayers automatically bail them out with NO RESTRICTIONS OR ACCOUNTABILITY is absolutely WRONG! And who among us with a brain believes the Big 3 would stop at any amount of a SINGLE bail-out "request?" Taxpayers & Lawmakers: OPPOSE THIS & VOTE IT DOWN! Period. Decades of Big 3 arrogance, ignorance & complete disdain for any concept of responsible business practices must end. Otherwise, nothing will change --- including those Corporate jets all over again.

I couldn't agree more, do not bail out these POOR BILLIONAIRES. Is our Government there to bail us (the citizen) out when we make a financial mistake and have to struggle to feed our children? HELL NO THEY ARE NOT. We are forced to pull ourselves up by our own boot straps just like these money mongers should have to. It should be put to a vote by the American people whether or not to bail these rich people out of their own hole. Oh wait a minute, they are not broke nor are they starving like half of the people in the United States. There is no need to bail these rich people out. As a taxpayer I am apalled by them even asking.

ITS CORRUPTION AND GREED IS THE ONLY ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION,ITS ALSO BECAUSE OUR CAR MANUFACTURERS ARE IN BED WITH OIL LIKE THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE WORLD ARE,PLUS THE PEOPLE SHOULDNT BE BAILING OUT ANY COMPANIES AS THEY BOUGHT IT ON THEMSELVES BY NOT DOING WHAT THE PEOPLE WANTED AT ALL,NO MORE HELP FOR ANY COMPANY AT THE PEOPLES EXPENSE,HOW MANY TIMES DO THEY NEED TO BE BAILED OUT I WONDER,THEY WERE HELPED BEFOR EAND THEY HAVE FAILED AGAIN,STUFF THEM AND LET THEM FAIL,ITS THERE OWN FAULT FOR BEING GREEDY AND RELYING ON OIL INSTEAD OF THE PEOPLE.
