Boone: Liquor by the Drink

Target:
Boone Town Council
Sponsored by:

We the undersigned wish to voice our opposition to the proposed mixed drink referendum.  We believe that the tax revenues realized by making liquor available in local restaurants, would more than be offset by the social and economic costs associated with alcohol related problems.

I believe the mixed drink referendum would have a negative impact on the current life of our community, its reputation as a tourist destination and its future.

Additional income and economic investments are easily out weighed by the expenses it brings along. I know there are a lot of responsible people that drink. They're responsible for... and their responsible for... and they're responsible for...

LBTD will only be a net expense. Seen it before. Strategy should be to play on the area's strengths - not create weaknesses. Secondly - on a different direction - getting high new has never been a long term solution to stress. That is just the reality of it - deal with truth and be productive and successful. Learn to be "normally" joyful and excited by life. Celebrate instead of inoculate.

I lived a childhood of alcholic parents & siblings. I hate what it does to families and friends. Please reconsider what you are about to do.

I do not believe that having liqour by the drink would benefit our community. Alcoholic beverages are already available at the local ABC store - and at least there is some hope that the individual who purchases the alcohol there would not drink until they reached their destination - not so with restaurant facilities.
