Twenty years ago Exxon's drunken Captian caused an oil spill in Alaska. Millions of animals and fish and otters and whales and many other forms of life were wiped from the face of the Earth. Millions more died in the years to come afterwards.
Exxon PROMISED that it would make it right, that it would clean it up, and that it would make restitution to the 32,000 people who were affected by the spill. They lied.
The courts awarded 5 billion dollars be paid in damages and instead of making good on its word, Exxon went to court. They fought the ruling for years, delaying payments for affected families and the enviroment until most people couldnt hold on any longer. A trick that big money knows well how to play. People went bankrupt, lost everything they ever had, thier homes, thier boats, thier ways of life all gone. Some even lost thier lives, and others killed themselves as a result of what happened.
And all along Exxon did nothing. They hired experts and lawyers to go in front of judges time after time to tell them more lies about how things were great back in Prince William Sound Alaska. And since Exxon was able to hire the best, the court ruled that they only had to pay $500 million to those lives that were destroyed. All of this while Exxon sat on record profits !!!
Your whole family, your home lost, your boat gone, your whole way of life handed down father to son for many generations gone over night. And Exxon told to pay each family $156,250. What would you do if that were your family ?? And after waiting 19 years for the money, what would you do if the court came along and said "Exxon, you can lower that to $15,625 for every family you destroyed" ???
In your heart, you know this is wrong. In your heart, you know that the good guy rarely wins in this world of corruption and greed. But today, you can make a difference.

Thank you, Jack. I haven't pumped gas from any of their stations in over 15+ years. Their greed is horrible. I have always felt that the there would a higher power, above us all, that the people of Exxon would have to answer to.

I boycotted Exxon when the Exxon Valdez spill happened. They still have not cleaned up what they did. It really makes me mad that it was reported that they did so long ago. Heartbreaking for the wildlife and sickening that they are still so irresponsible.
