Sexist One a Day Teen Advantage

Boycott One a Day Teen Advantage

Target:
This product promotes unhealthy gender stereotypes
Sponsored by:

Please boycott One a Day Teen Advantage for "him," and "her." The slogan states that the product promotes

"Healthy skin" (for Her)and

"Healthy muscle function" (for Him).

These statements obviously have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.

The ad is completely sexist. It additionally perpetuates the stereotype of women being frail and preoccupied only  with vanity, while men should aspire only to be muscular and strong. The ad also states that there should be gender specific teen multivitamins, suggesting that men and women have different biological make-ups.

Please join me in signing this petition to help pull the ad off the air, and boycott this ridiculous product that promotes harmful gender stereotypes to our young men and women.

I just saw the commercial and was appalled!! What? Only girls need healthy skin? Only boys need healthy muscles? Not to mention the fact that there's no scientific evidence that their vitamins help out with these issues...

I use the one-a-day teen adavantage multivitamin for him.. obviously im a boy lol.. but I understand the issue here and Im on your side.. wouldnt any vitamin have the same affect on male or female? just make 1 good teen vitamin and call it a day.. its all advertising and trying to make higher profits..

Yes, this commercial is appalling. Let's turn back the clock a few decades - when women were ashamed to be athletic or muscular and men didn't worry about such silly parts of their body as skin! In fact, let's make girls think that their muscles don't need to function - maybe diet and purge a little more so they won't show at all! What a horrible, retro stereotyping commercial - get rid of it and the whole concept! Where are these marketing execs from anyway? Mars? or Venus?

As a teen female, this ad offended me. I work out, I need healthy muscles too. :/

I am a woman who works out at the gym three times a week and prides herself on her muscle strength. I have been weight training since I was a teenager. When I saw this commercial, it made me sick to my stomach. What about MY muscle strength???

While men and women have some different needs in nutrition, skin and muscle mass are most certainly not gender exclusive. I hope every kid can see through this obnoxious campaign and boycotts the product.
