It is clear that the bra/cancer theory needs further attention and research. However, the cancer and lingerie industries have resisted. Even the highest medical authority in the United States, the National Institutes of Health, has censored the information. According to their websites, there is no link between breast cancer and bras, and they say this with no research evidence to support their statement. The American Cancer Society says the same, as well as some other cancer charities that receive lots of money from drug companies, especially companies that make breast cancer drugs.

The startling fact is that there is no research to disprove the bra/cancer theory. While some research and common sense supports the theory, the cancer industry refuses to do any research on this subject. They only want women to come for mammograms (which can cause cancer because of radiation exposure) for early detection of a tumor (which means the woman already has cancer!) Preventing this disease by warning women not to wear bras too tightly for too long each day does not serve the economic goals of the cancer industry. And it threatens the multi-billion dollar lingerie industry, which is fearful of class action lawsuits as the tobacco industry has faced for their destructive products.

This disgraceful suppression of the bra/cancer link must STOP! The National Institutes of Health, along with the National Cancer Institute, must encourage further research directly looking at the bra/cancer theory to either support or disprove the theory. They must STOP saying there is no link unless they have research to back their statement. These agencies admit that over 70% of breast cancer cases have an unknown cause. The bra/cancer link could possibly explain that 70%!

Most disturbing is that the bra/cancer link is being systematically suppressed and ignored by the federal government at a time when healthcare reform is being promoted, and research to support or disprove the theory is easy to perform. If breast cancer can be prevented by eliminating the excessive wearing of constrictive bras, it can save millions of women from this disease, and save billions of dollars in healthcare costs. Studying breast cancer while ignoring the effect of bras on breast disease is like studying foot disease while ignoring the effect of tight shoes. Continuing to ignore the bra/cancer link, especially with the bra/cancer theory increasingly gaining international support, including from MD's, will show that our highest government medical authorities are inept, corrupt, and negligent.
There are now thousands of websites on this subject, many from health care professionals including medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, osteopathic doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, lymphatic specialists, nutritionists, and others who care about women and helping end this epidemic. Grassroots efforts to keep this information alive and spreading have supplanted the traditional medical research approach, which has disqualified itself for lack of interest and conflict of interest.
When a disease is caused by the culture and its habits, attitudes, fashions and industries, there is bound to be resistance to change. Industries that contribute to disease will be defensive, and industries that profit from disease will be conflicted. However, the truth has a way of getting out, despite the resistance and suppression. Thank Goodness the truth does have a way of getting out.
Women are dying from this dreaded diseases due to lack of funding to carry out intensive researches on the Bra vs Breast Cancer. This petition is to bring about awareness to women all over the  US and the world to demand for effective  life saving research to study this fast spreading disease.
We would like Michelle Obama to iniciate and plea our cause by addressing this disease as a priority in Health matters.
