The trend of "Breed Banning" is running rampant at every level of government. As any educated voter/pet lover can tell you, these reports, rumors and political grandstanding are bordering hysteria and if all officials would put half the energy they direct towards participation in this tragedy of justice, they could not dispute the facts and not the myths the public has listened to. Most of the dog attacks reported misquoted the actual breed of the dogs in question. Pit bulls acheived a higher passing percent (81.7%), higher than, lets say, collies scored (79.4%) in the American Temperament Testing Association's testing of 28,010 dogs of different breeds. Breeds targeted by BSL -American Pit Bull and Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Shar-pei's, German Shepherds, Belgian Malanois, Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Great Danes, Irish Wolf Hounds, Scottish Deerhounds, Mastiffs, Boerboels, American Bull Dogs, Akitas, Chow Chows, Tosa Inus, Presa Canarios, Dogo Argentinos, Cane Corsos, Wolf Hybrids, Canary Dogs, Perro De Presas, and more!!!!! I'm quoting Rod Jones who put it into these wise words; "Legislation is due, laws are in order ,and the situation is out of hand.Let's be sure of the focus. Laws are for humans, not for animals who have no say about the captive environment they must endure."

I have two female pits a mom and daughter.When mom was pregnant for her one and only litter she got spoiled i looked up a prenancy schedule and in it it said she should eat egg,steak,fried potatoes anyway even afer doing everything i could to make sure she had a healthy litter and after 3 days she wasnt producing milk so i did the bottle thing with all 8 and anyway they all made it and i got attached and decided to keep one of her babies so after all me and mama has been through together I could not just hand over my babies to anyone for them to be destroyed.So before you ban my babies just think if u lost one of yours because the state says so.How Stupid does that sound I LOVE MY GIRLS (my pit bulls)

I have 2 beautiful male pitbulls. They are my babies. I also have 12 grandchildren that my pits love a protect with their lives. The kids ride Jake and Billy for horses.My youngest grandson sticks his hand all the way down Jake's throat when sharing his food with Jake. These 2 dogs will not let anyone even spank these kids. I have had pitbulls for 31 years they are as loving as any other dogs.Jake is 9 and Billy is 5 we treat them like our babies. That's how they act like babies!!!!!!!!!!!

BSL must be stopped! It's unfair to these specific breeds which don't have to be dangerous, that depends on the owners. Most of these breeds are not fighting dogs but ordinary pets.

Breed Specific legislation needs to be stopped. It is not the dog, it's the owner. Any dog will bite, even a chihuahua. any dog can also be the most loyal, loving, kind pet anyone could ever ask for. It's people that are the cause of the problems that have been associated with staffys, American pit bulls, German shepherds, rottie, and so forth. Arrest them. Stop blaming the dog for being trained to do what it has done,Or for the poor dogs that have not been properly socialized and trained, again by the owner. The trash that causes the reported problems, bring it on themselves. and they are a small number. Why punish an entire breed because of the small number of stupid, greedy, sadistic people that should be locked up to begin with. BLAME THE DEED NOT THE BREED. Also remember that most dogs that do attack, have probably came from an unscrupulous breeder that has not taken the care to breed out any aggressive tendencies that come up on occasion. Look at Michael Vic's dogs. all but one have been rehabilitated. Check out Leo the therapy dog. He is an excellent example that these dogs can be saved and make excellent pets.

Susanne Marie Coutts. There are no bad breeds, only bad owners. I had a chow chow once who was the gentlest dog on the planet and know many pit bulls who are as well. Breed specific legislation is WRONG.
