We are fighting to bring our baby girl home from Guatemala. Sadly we missed the deadline set by the Guatemalan government to be grandfathered in under the old adoption laws by just 10 days. So our case remains in limbo with no real laws in place yet. The US government says they remain committed to helping families in our situation, but we have not seen any real progress from them.

As we wait for Guatemala to get a new system in place for international adoptions, our baby sits in foster care 2,000 miles away from a mommy and daddy that love her.

Recently we hired a new attorney and the the Guatemala government agreed to hear our case. We want to bring this petition on our next visit trip to show them how committed we are to our daughter and that we will never give up on bringing her home.

Every child deserves a home and our child has a loving home waiting for her!! Bring home Ameera!!!

Please consider this petition. Matt and Stacey have been involved in this adoption process for years and just want some closure. Ameera will be given a loving and nurturing home and will be surrounded by family and friends abound. It is immoral that government bureaucracy dictates even one child be made to live 1 day more than is absolutely necessary in an institution while a loving family is available and willing to provide for not just the financial, but the emotional needs of that child. Stacey & Matt are willing to do just that for Ameera, provide a loving HOME for her, where all her needs will be met with the love and attention that is impossible for her to receive in an institution; the love and attention that no child should ever be denied, for any reason.
