13 states in this country have already legalized marijuana to be used for medical reasons and pa. needs to be next to join them states. Right now I am taking 4 different drugs for the pain I am in. The drugs I am on are drugs people in this country are dieing from because of accident overdoseing and are made of cemicals I and probally 99 percent of this country have never heard of and i take 10 pills a day which is 300 a month and 3650 pills a year. These drugs are way more dangerious and adictive then marijauna. If I was to be taken off these drugs today the doctor would have to take me off these drugs slowly or it could make me very sick. That doesn't happen with marijuana no matter how much you smoke and how long you smoked it. I never heard of anyone ever overdosing from marijuana or people kidneys being destroyed because of smoking marijuana. The drugs I take now for my pain is alot worse then maijauana could ever be. The thing our state lawmakers need to in pa. is listen to the people who are dealing with medical problems and what they want not what the pharmicudical companys want. We know what we want in our bodys and we want to do it legally. I won't smoke marijuana until it is legal because I love my children and don't want to be put in jail for using something that will help with my pain. I have in the past used it a few times to see if it did help and it does. thanks and remember we vote and our lawmakers are only in office because we put you there. Now we were there for them now they need to be there for us.

My extensive research in law enforcement indicates that most addicts recover easier when they smoke marijuana. It hides the cravings for heroin, alcohol and cocaine. What is the harm if someone smokes some marijuana, stays home eats some pizza and falls asleep?? You see the government wants people to go to a local bar, drink 3 beers or mixed drinks, pull them over and arrest them for DUI. If they are not arrested for DUI, they may go home and take out their anger on their loved ones. How many times are police called to a domestic problem and one or not both are drinking alcohol? When the are police contacted and the people are arrested the system will continue to be overloaded. Let them smoke, be happy(who ever met an angry stoner?)fall alseep and wake up without a hangover. They can then go to work and be productive instead of dealing with the hangover for most of the day....... Wake up and get the Henry Anslinger thoughts out of our heads. If we listened to him and all his thoughts, we would be all in dresses today!!!!!!!

I have been a substance abuse counselor for the past 7 years. I have done extensive research on marijuana, and it is far less harmful than alcohol or tobacco. There are strong forces trying to keep this drug illegal medicinally or recreationally. I feel this drug has the ability to change our country drastically for the better. I am currently watching my mother take copious amounts of opioids and sleeping pills to deal with pain, to little effect. Marijuana would aid her without negative consequences, but noone wants to risk legal problems to get it for her. Where is the compassion in this all. Millions of americans would benefit from this medicine, millions of crritically ill people swear by the benefits, however there is still opposition. A regulated and controlled system of distribution would effectively reduce access of this drug to our children. Where has our freedom of choice gone?
