Bring Nick Jonas to Diabetes walk '08!!!

Target:
To find a cure to diabetes with the help of Nick.

Team: Nick's Diabetes Fighting Ninjas
Team Captain: Cassi Ott

Help me, Cassi Ott, find a cure to the fastest growing disease on the planet. In 2008, 23.6 million Americans have diabetes(57 million are pre-diabetic).
Nick has inspired me, changed my life, and showed me the light to the heart of life...
Support my petition to bring Nick Jonas to me & my team on October 12, 2008.

I have NEVER met Nick Jonas or the Jonas Brothers before... I have only been to 3 concerts & I don't think I'm going to anyothers anytimes soon because my mom and I don't have a lot of money(we don't have the money needed to pay for the tickets). My life long dream has been to meet Nick Jonas... & sometimes I think that dream is never going to come true.
3 years ago pop-rock disney icon, Nick Jonas, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes... after exibiting the classic symptoms of diabetes; excessive sweat & hot temperature, sore body, excessive thurst and hunger, and extreme irritibility. He was taken to his doctor and told he was diabetic. When told the first thing has asked was "Am I going to die?" after bawling uncontrollably... he was told he wasn't going to die...
Now Nick and his brothers own a foundation titled, Change for the Children... which donates money to orphaned children, poor children, and kids that are terminally ill.
Nick and his brothers, Kevin and Joe, have donated 250 concert tickets to kids across the USA with diabetes. Fans have donated $3,328.50 to the foundation which money supports families iwth demonstrated financial needs to send their children to a camp for diabetic kids.

    Cassi's Story:
Last year on March 11th, 2007 Nick Jonas told the public that he has type 1 diabetes. (this news broke my heart) So in hopes to find a cure I started working with and support the American Diabetes Association... When I attended my first ADA; Step Out walk I was amazed at the commitment of all the others working with the association and I knew from that moment on I'd never ever let go of this association ever!
At the time when I first started support the ADA my mom, little sister, and I had moved in with my Grandparents because of fighting that had been going on between my mom and my step dad (which had been happening for 5 years, the entire time they've been married). A few weeks later I was diagnosed with depression... Then a few days later my Grandfather (my hero) was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes(which runs in my family). My world was quickly crashing down around me... When I was growing up my mom was a single mother, which means I don't know who my biological father is. My mom and I lived with my Grandparents. When I was little at school I was bullied, picked on, and I didn't have many friends... In first grade I was sent into an advanced drawing/art class which I got to leave class for. (pretty awesome) ... I was the only 1st grader in the class!!! ... I also started learning to play the piano in 1st grade. "I think the only true reason I'm making it though everything right now is because of Nick! He's showed me the light to the heart of life! I don't know what my life would be like with out him... I have a very strong faith. My love for God is unendable... Growing up as a kid going to church, I'm in confirmation now, I got to church all the time, and do a bunch of help for the church (I'm on the landscaping commitee for the church & I work at Vacation Bible School where I watch 2nd and 3rd graders from 5pm-8pm teaching them about God and the love of God)... I just want Nick to know how much he's changed my life.... and EVERYTHING I've done for him! He's my world!"
My dream is to find the cure to diabetes, and I know I can do it!
I Know I have what it takes to make a differnence... There's no way I'm EVER going to stop working with the association! It's my entire world!!!
The funny thing is ... I love Nick Jonas SO much! To tell you the truth, as lame as this may sound, Nick's the only one I can see myself spending the rest of my life with! I see myself watching over him, rasing a family with him, and taking care of his health... (expecially that last one.) But I do doubt myself because I think that it's never gonna happen. I really love him. I really do. My life isn't worth living without him.
3 years ago- my mom had a heart attack... "It was a 99% blockage. It freaked all of us out. Everybody in my family has a heart attack and heart disease, but they ususally have a heat attack when they're in their 50's or 60's or 70's but my mom was 31!... My mom has her own My Meritor story! It's pretty neat I was in the commercial! So when ever we go to the hospital they're always like 'Oh so nice to see you! You two had that commercial! It always makes me cry! Such a touching story!' I think it's pretty cool we're like known as celebrities! haha!" ... So because of my mom having a heart attack we work with and support the American Heart Association. We're always doing things for them like, walks, fashion shows, commercials, golfing events, radio interviews.
2008- About two months ago I was exibiting strange feelings my mom took me to the doctor and I was told that I have asthma. Okay, so now i have Exercise Indused Asthma, & Undiagnosed Clinical Depression.  "Yeah, my asthma really sucks. This past weekend I was camping for Girl Scouts, and I couldn't even play any of the field games because of my asthma. It really gets in the way of activities that i'm involved in, and of course you never really want anything to interfear with your day. I just hope it doesn't hold me back... I know I'm not gonna let it." ... now my mom and step dad are going though a divorice... It's really tough. We're running out of money! It scares me so much because we're like "What are we gonna do when we run out? Where are we gonna go? What's gonna happen to us?" it terrifies me but I don't wanna show the feelings to my mom because then she's going to get scared. I just don't know what to do. I've been trying to get a job but no where will except me that will pay me because I'm 13!

nick is a true hero; ive seen them live in concert 2 times and whenever i have a problem i think of nick jonas's speach during "a little bit longer" then i know that im not the only one thats going/gone thru this. the speech is everywhere i go my room, purse, folder, myspace. cant get it out of my head hes an inspiraton. "As some of may- as some of you may or may not know, this song was written about something really close to my heart. You know sometimes life brings out its complications and some hardships, but you know, it's how we deal with them that counts. And I know that each and every single one of you in this audience tonight have been through a hard time in your life before, right? I know that each and every one of you have felt, at one point, like you couldn't go on. But then you found hope. There's always some way to find hope. Remember that. There was a time in my life when I got diagnosed with diabetes, and I thought that I'm not gonna be able to live my dream, getting to do what I wanna do. That was three years ago. And I can say, today, that I played for 2,400 people in El Paso. That happened 'cause I found hope. How many of you people in this audience tonight need to find hope? How many of you need to find a friend? And how many of you need to feel some peace? Well like I said, that's what this song is about. And tonight, this song- this song is for you. This song is for every broken heart tonight, and for every broken dream, for every high and for every low. Don't ever forget it. Now, what I want you to do now is, if you know the words to this song, I want you to sing with all- with all your heart and with all your soul. 'Cause something happens when 2,400 come together and sing a song. Alright? Now this song is for this generation, and this generation is gonna sing it out."
