BORNEO SHARKARMA is a Not For Profit NGO that helps to protect and conserve Sharks, Skates and Rays which are being unsustainably fished off the coasts of BORNEO. Started in 2010 on Facebook, SHARKARMA documents unsustainable fishing practices locally. This petition will be submitted to MIPR Brunei Darussalam and calls for a complete BAN on SALE and CONSUMPTION of SHARK FIN in BRUNEI DARUSSALAM until sustainable practices are adhered to and a proper Shark Fishery is created. NO SHARK = NO FISH = NO MAKAN. SAVE OUR SHARKS ~ SAVE OUR SEAS. Sign the petition...
"We the Undersigned" ~ FOR ATTENTION OF ~ Dear Pehin Yahya, ~ Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Negara Brunei Darussalam. Please consider a complete ban enforced through the judicial system of the 'SALE AND CONSUMPTION of SHARKS FIN and SHARKS FIN SOUP' in Negara Brunei Darussalam until such time where true fisheries management is effective enough to support a sustainable Shark fishery, i.e. a true closed system where life cycle is achieved by generation succession. TTP (Technology Transfer Protocol) is available to support the project goals of MIPR on harvesting of Shark species and making it a viable commercial fishery in the future with better management and adhering to protocol. For now a complete BAN MUST BE LEGISLATED AND ENFORCED before the collapse of fisheries occurs. Sincerely, BORNEO SHARKARMA and ~ "We the undersigned" petitioners ~ in support a 'ban of sharks fin soup in Brunei Darussalam' and requesting better management ~ shark conservation strategies ~ so that future food sources are available for the Nation of Brunei Darussalam in the future. Sincerely ~ *the Undersigned*

Dear BRUNEI SHARK FIN BAN supporters,
The petition goal of 1,200 signatures was not achieved ~ however, this petition will be extremely beneficial to the TARGET of MIPR (Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources) as a secondary online petition which complements the first paper petition submitted to MIPR Brunei Government.
BORNEO SHARKARMA would like to sincerely thank everyone involved for their signatures and support ~ the petition is now closed with a surprisingly 'auspicious' chinese number of 888 !!!
Lucky for some...if you believe that sort of thing...
Thanks once again
