Buckwalter Community Park Tennis Courts

Buckwalter Community Park Tennis Courts

Target:
Beaufort County
Sponsored by:

Bluffton currently only has 6 public tennis courts, 2 which are unplayable.  We need the 13 Court Buckwalter Community Park Tennis Courts!!  We have monies to help build the courts and have seen the benefits of such a complex in areas such as Sumter and Florence.  Tournaments and tennis championships will bring in a huge amount of revenue for the area's hotels, restaurants and businesses.

We definitely need more courts in Bluffton!!! We need more clay courts, we need courts with lights and we should consider having a few courts with a roof (NOT an indoor design --just a roof) so we can play during the rainy season -- Hilton Head has a few... let's put Bluffton on the map as a top venue to play tennis in the Southeast.

Please put more courts in Bluffton. It is really important to us. It is often hard to find open courts to practice/play on.

As an eye witness to necessary requirements to meet needs to have fun, fight obesity, learn, and have a option in needs of sports. I believe the public court is very much needed. Tennis has been a plus to many youths and adults that do no have much influence to have a diverse sports interest. Building a Public tennis court much impact on youths and adults outreach in life.

As an active tennis player with current USTA rating of 3.5 I whole-heartedly support the construction of the Buckwalter tennis center. There are many people like myself who will take full advantage of this asset to our community.

Public tennis courts are simply not keeping up with the excellerated growth of the Bluffton area. A tennis complex capable of handling tournaments would also be an economic boost to the community. Give us an additional area to get some exercise and a place for our youth to learn a wonderful sport.

My son is on a travel baseball team & we do a considerable amount of travel. You would be suprized on how many of these small little towns we play in have more tennis facilities/courts than Bluffton. This needs to happen, especially for our youth.

With the growth in this area, and trying to keep our children safe and 'busy', the tennis arena would be the perfect solution. A must!

There are far too few public tennis courts in the Hilton Head Area. Towns in the North, where weather isn't even tennis-friendly in the winter, have more courts per capita than we do. Let's give tennis in the area a helping hand by getting these courts built.

No matter their age, people in Bluffton need to get more exercise than simply floating down the May River. These courts would be a welcome addition to the fitness and fun of Bluffton.

The Hilton Head/Bluffton area, of all places, should definitely have the kind of big public tennis facility found in many other parts of SC. With it we could regularly host big junior and adult tournaments. I know from years of going to juniors tournaments with my children in many mundane places, that parents much prefer going to interesting places like Hilton Head where there are nice accomodations and activities to fill the days and hours between matches.

A huge fan and frequent player, I know the excitement and dollars that tournaments bring in. Having a class facility for this in the Bluffton area would have a big impact on the area. I'm frequently in the low country and would love to see this addition to the area.

We recently relocated from Florida, and were amazed that there aren't any community tennis courts. The addition of these courts would be a much needed asset, and would encourage both adults and children to improve or learn a wonderful sport.

As a co-founder of Public Tennis, Inc., which solidly supports Bluffton public tennis, as well as public tennis on HHIsland and in Beaufort, I have seen first-hand how a community can coalesce behind a cause as worthy as this. The investment is low compared to the future benefits to be derived.

It is very important that sport facilities be kept open. It keeps the kids off the streets. It makes for a tighter community. It develops disipline in our young. Good for the mind. Good for the spirit. Good for the soul.most of all it is great for the community.

Tennis is such a great way to encourage health in the community- and the entire US is struggling with obesity as a national problem- we would like the option of using courts where ever we go- and it will make each of us stronger as US citizens if we have public places to exercise.

When I began looking at property to move to this area, the builders inserted a flysheet into their marketing brochures indicating that a professional tennis center would be built next door and be ready for operation in January 2005. We moved here in April 2005 and were very disappointed that the facility hadn't been built. I certainly support it.
