Thank you for being willing to listen to the grass-roots voice of the people of this great country. Alternative medicine needs to be covered by insurance so that it is affordable and people truly have a choice for the treatment they desire. This is long overdue. Many people have sufferred, died needlessly, and have been financially and emotionally broken because this issue was not addressed. Yes, this also needs to be regulated but so does the medical industry and pharmaceuticals. I pray that you will have the strength and fortitude to deal with aggressive well-paid lobbies that do not have the interests of the well-being of the people in our country as part of their agenda. God Bless you and keep you and your family well and safe.

Dear Mr. President, So many lives could be saved if we practiced true preventive medicine as opposed to reactive medicine. Drugs and complex medical procdures should be our last line of defense, not our first. Exercise, the eating of healthy organically grown foods, stress reduction techniques, etc would go a long way to making us a healthier nation. In my opinion, todays practice of medicine borders on insanity, and is bankrupting our nation. Genetically engineered foods, animal factory farming, the mega farm lobby that supports our present very destructive farming methods, etc. are truly responsible for so much illness in our nation. Cattle on giant feedlots being fed a very un-natural diet of GMO herbicide sprayed corn, and soy to fatten them up faster for larger profits is just one example of farming gone mad in our nation. The meat lacks many important nutrients that is found in grassed fed beef suchas C.L.A., and a better ratio of good fats to bad fats, whic grass fed cows are richer in. Many fruits, vegetable, and grains grown today have much lower amounts of nutrients than their counter parts of even just 50 years ago , or today's mmuch healthier organic alternatives. Shame on the American Congress (both parties) that more and more Americans are believing is owned by corp. lobbyist., and so much ot todays so called sciene is bought and paid for by special interests. It's time to hear the voices of typical hardworkiong regular,intelligent Americans. They know more how to solve problems, than so many so called experts. Anyway this nation's healthcare system needs to change soon, or we will go broke. Lawyers also need to reined in. We have become a totally litigious nation, with so many outrageous law suits, taht waste lots of time and money. I could go on and on, but I sometimes feel it it just a waste of time to contact most people in the congress. I hope that I am proven wrong on the health issues facing the nation. As a holistic dietitian, I find it disgraceful that this nation lacks any ounce of nutritional knowledge. Obviously conventional medicine just doesn't work. Doctors don't even take basic nutrition classes in medical school. They should learn from Dr. Andrew Weil (yes, look him up). I am blessed with the knowledge and empowerment that I have regarding disease prevention. I can't say the same about the average American. Until things change, I wish them lots of luck!

It's pretty sad that we are the unhealthiest industrialized nation in the world. Maybe one day I'll witness the promotion of broccoli instead of Lipitor.
