Each year, during a middle Eastern celebration of Id, thousands of innocent camels are abused, starved and killed. These animals are first beaten and starved until they are weak then hobbled and have their necks sliced open and bleed to death. Middle Eastern people who celebrate Id claim it is part of their religion and that the meat is eaten as a feast. This celebration goes against religion in a part written by God that states You can read it in the Book of Leviticus (Lev.11:4) of the Torah: 'You shall not eat among those that chew the cud or those that have cloven hooves: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you.'

We the undersigned are petitioning the sacrifice and abusive treatment of camels who are used in the Id festival. I know it may be your religion to sacrifice animals but your treatment and killing of young innocent camels needs to end. Muslims are not even supposed to eat camels becuase they do not have cloven hooves and therefore are UNCLEAN! These animals do so much for you and yet you betray them in such a selfish and cruel manner!

Si on doit tuer des animaux pour les manger, alors il faut que la mort soit instantanée pour qu'ils ne souffrent pas. Il est inadmissible de faire souffrir les animaux, que ce soit de la faim, de la soif, sous les coups ou sous une mort lente. Il est encore plus inadmissible d'en faire un spectacle.
