Bring Catie Lingo back to Franklin South.

Target:
Franklin South Elementary Principal and Administrators.

Budget cuts have been sited as the reason for the untimely release of our much loved and appreciated school aid Catie Lingo. Catie has been an aid with Franklin South Elementary for 3 years. During this time she has not only been an exemplary employee; but in our opinion a shining example of what it means to be an Aid and caretaker for our staff and students.

Catie won our hearts purely due to her gift of authenticity and her ability to competently do her job. It is obvious that our students simply adore her. They are keenly aware that she is present not only to be of assistance but more importantly; that she genuinely cares about them. For these reasons the lack of her presence is an injustice.

In our opinion, Catie Lingo is and has been an invaluable asset to Franklin South Elementary. For this reason we are gathering as concerned members to form a petition to request the re-instatement of her position as Aid at our school.

My daughter cried when she found out Catie was not going to be an aid at Franklin South anymore. She told me that Catie was so helpful and special to her that she felt school was not the same without her. She misses Catie so much, and she wants her back. Please bring Catie back!

We really want for Catie to come back to Franklin South. My kids adore her, she was always there to help them, they felt that they could trust her and she was always going to be there .They miss her so much that they keep asking me almost every day when she is coming back. Please bring her back soon, Franklin South is not the same without her.

Catie is an amazing aide. My kids absolutely love her. When my oldest transferred to Franklin South two years ago, she constantly talked about Catie at home. I was so happy when I got to meet her in person and thank her for all she did to help my daughter feel comfortable at a new school with new friends. This year on the first day of school, the first thing my kids told me when they got home from school was that Catie wasn't there anymore. They were sad. Catie is very in tune with the children and their needs. Every time I see her on campus she is always telling me something about my children that I would never have known otherwise. Also, Catie was invaluable at the end of last year when Mrs. Sine was on maternity leave. I personally think the kindergarten class would have fallen apart without her. I appreciate Catie so much and would be so grateful if she were back.

Catie Lingo is definitely an asset to Franklin South. Not only is she very involved with all of the children at school, they truly love her. I can't tell you how sad my three kids were when they heard that she would not be back this year. She genuinely cares about all of the kids and goes above and beyond what a typical aide does. Please bring her back and put a smile on everyone's faces!

My daughter's first year at Franklin was last year and Catie was one of the familiar, loving faces Celina looked forward to seeing every day. Catie always went out of her way to help her feel loved and more comfortable at her new school.

Catie is not just an aide, she has been a long-time and trusted friend to my children. When I'm not there my chldren have someone to go to. She was often helping in situations where I needed that type of support. Please bring catie back!!

She is the best aide that Franklin has. She loves the children and goes out of her way to make them feel loved and confortable at school. I have seen multiple children ask for her when they are hurt or sad. What are they going to do now? Who are they going to go to now? We need consistency for the children. Bring Catie back!!

We love Catie. Having a new Principal this year makes it hard for everyone especially the kids. She is very important to keep the consistancy and a feeling of true caring. She knows them all by name. We need her there!

Our family has been attending Franklin South for many years. Our oldest daughter who graduated 2 years ago, still asks if she can come with me to visit with Catie. I think that speaks volumes of the type of caring commitment which Catie has for our kids at Franklin. I was VERY sad to hear of the news of her release. I hope it will be reversed.

Catie has always been there for my kids. She cares about them and not only knows their names -- but honestly KNOWS them. She knows what they like, she knows when they are happy or sad. My daughter Ashley had a hard year last year. She was sick with what was finally diagnosed as an allergy to wheat. My daughter was quiet, sometimes cranky and usually didn't feel good. Catie watched over her and tried to encourage her to still socialize and have fun. (the year before my daughter was a social butterfly - her illness just changed her) Besides Catie trying to make her happy and help her keep her friends, she also relayed information to me when I came to campus about things that I might need to know. I always knew that Catie had my children's best interest at heart and really cared about them. This caring spirit is one of the main reasons I bring my children to Franklin every year. I hope that there aren't any other "budget cuts" that also seriously hurt Franklin's reputation for being such a caring school. It has really been a great atmosphere for my kids...I'd sure hate all the changes to hurt that. WE APPRECIATE CATIE!!!

I am asking that you bring Catie back to Franklin South. Last year Catie took the time to find out why my son would not play with the other children. She was truely concerned that his ablity to play with other children was not up to par. My son Austin is High Fuctioning Autistic with ADHD. Catie was the only person other than Jennifer Woolf who would take the time to speek to my child and to encourage him to play. As a mom of a SPECIAL NEEDS child you are fools not to bring her back!!!!!!!

Katie is wonderful with all the kids at Franklin South. She is fun to talk to and truely cares about the kids she works with. The school will not be the same without her. She needs to be hired back.

I first met Catie when my children began at Franklin South two years ago. She was (and is) an amazing aide! She knew every child by name and was genuinely interested in what they had to say. I also had the pleasure of working with her last year. She went over and above the expectations that are set for an aide. I know that she would do anything for any one of the children there. That is what makes her valuable to Franklin South. It will not be the same place without her there!

I had the honor of teaching at Franklin South for the past 7 years. During that time I developed many wonderful and amazing friendships with the parents, staff and students. One of those friendships was with Catie. I had the privilege of having both of her daughter's in my kindergarten classes and having Catie has an aide in my room. The kids loved her and she cared so much about them too. Working with Catie was great. Talking and laughing with her really made my day. She helped me so much with my class when I was on maternity leave and I knew my kids were in good hands with her when I was gone. She really helped them with the transition and adjusting to me not being there. I am very thankful for that!!!! We became close friends in the 3 years she was at Franklin and we still talk all the time. Franklin wouldn't be the same without her there to watch and care for the kids who have come to trust and love her so much. Please bring Catie back soon!!!!

Catie has a special kindness. Her desire to do a great job is parallel with her heart for the kids. You can't fool the kids, they love her for a reason. How can we replace that? How can we deprive our children of an honest heart who really wants to be there for them? Please, get that girl back! The decision to release Catie is truly debilitating to our entire school! We call Franklin the Best because of people like Catie.

Catie was always so kind a nd sweet, and made me feel really comfortable at Franklin. She was the only one who really knew me other than Kathy and Theresa in the office. My little kindergartner would always be sad after I left after helping in the classroom, and Catie would always come release her off of my leg, and take her under her wing, and then she would be fine. I always appreciated that! IT will make my daughter VERY sad if she was not there this year!!

The moment I meet Catie I was very comfortable with her. I have a daughter that has diabetes and it was very important that I felt comfortable with the playground aids and everyone in that school. Catie understood her diabetes and ALWAYS made a valiant effort to make sure she was okay. She took her under her wing and my daughter felt if something was wrong she could tell Catie and it would be handled immediately. We need Catie! Please!

Catie was the first person to learn my name and my son's name at Franklin last year (my first student and his kindergarten year). Her assistance to the kindergarten was immeasurable. We need Catie! Thank you.

Last year I took my children to a different school at the beginning of the year. My 1st grader was struggling tremendously. We decided to take him back to Franklin South where he attended Kindergarten even though it was a lot of travel for us. Catie knew him from the previous year and when she saw him she was so excited! She was so nice to him on the play ground and always helped him to feel safe at school. She made a huge difference in his life. My son finished out 1st grade doing remarkably better. A great deal of this change was due to his emotional stability to which Catie played a great part in. She is an asset to the student body at Franklin. She does more than babysit on the playground. We need Catie.
