CBBF Leadership - It's time for elections!

Target:
Canadian Bodybuilding Community
We believe that the current CBBF executive is completely out of control and assessment needs to be made to see whether they should stay in power.

The CBBF does not let you know this but, by law, all members of the CBBF are allowed to vote for the executive positions. A member in the CBBF is anyone who has bought a membership to one of their provincial federations. That means that each and every one of you has a vote.

Currently, the CBBF executive is as follows:

President: Mark Smishek
Vice President: Karen MacLean
Secretary/Treasurer: John MacLellan

We are not saying that none of the CBBF executive can stay in power. Rather, given the turmoil they've caused, particularly in Ontario, and the fact that the organization as a whole has shrunk for the 9 years that they've been in power, their leadership must at least be questioned.

This petition asks each one of them to step down from their positions and
seek re-election if they wish to stay in power. If they're good, the people
will re-elect them; if not, someone better will be put into their place.
It's time for them to put their performance on the line.

The election must involve all the country's members and not be a closed-door meeting with only a few individuals. The open-door policy that is inclusive of its members is how legitimate organizations run.

To learn of some of the questions that are being asked to the current CBBF exutive team (questions that are NOT being answered!), please visit www.CBBFOntario.com

We hope you will support us and sign this petition:

I hope the OPA will step down for re-election as well fair is fair I believe that Ron would get back in anyway. As for Mark CBBf President well good job so far but I hate to tell you the OPA is oficial and what you are trying to do is against the law! besides that fact, Ontario does more shows than any other province! Not just because of Ron but all of us mostly Jamore enterprises, they do more shows than any other promoter in the Country, not to mension the largest and the most fun!! If you drop the OPA If you continue this assinine behavior you risk destroying the sport in Canada !

This issue should be solved out in the open, not behind closed doors. No more secret negotiations!

By legal right the members should have a voice in the decision making process and that voice should be done in this particular scenario would a vote in an election? If problems have occured during the present regimes tenure, then the problem should resolved through a democratic election. The CAW would be an example where members vote on various problems in and of the organization.

More people need to read, understand and absorb the cold hard facts of the situation occurring in Ontario. The CBBF-Ontario division has misled many of the athletes...preying upon unknowing athletes with feeble attempts at justifying the unjust and leading to believe this a "change" for the better in the province of Ontario???? We live in a free country where dictatorship is non-existent!! We have the right to vote and make our voices heard!! Not submit or sit back and allow a coup d’etat to take precedence!!! The CBBF has the "amateur" ban in place once again and all provincial affiliates must adhere to the bylaws of this governing organization. How do our athletes feel about that?? Dictatorship at its finest!!! Either compete for nothing in the CBBF (we have been fighting for more pro-qualifying competitions but our voices are silenced) OR compete for cash, prizes, exposure and prestige in physique organizations that truly care about the athletes!! POSITIVE, LEGAL and ETHICAL change IS required now at the IFBB “provincial” level in Ontario!!!! My voice is reaching out to all Canadian physique competitors for support in the re-instatement of the original physique association in Ontario (the OPA) and subsequently vote for positive changes at the National level.

Ron Hache knows what he is doing. At the same time Jim Morris has created a high quality operation built on hard work and dedication. I object to the bullying approach which the CBBF is adopting. Their approach is combative and discounts any integrity which they have for the sport and its participants.

Being new to this sport, it is essential that we newcomers have the best foundation possible. Should there be issues within the current structure of the CBBF organization requiring further scrutiny which, in turn, will be for the betterment of the body building community, I am all for it.

this is not good for the competitors and CBBF Ontario didn't even have a website ready to go or any thought into how they would get their organization off the ground to benefit the athletes

I am in full support of the Ontario Physique Association and the direction it is going. A definite change is needed at the CBBf level. A better perspective is required to better serve the Athletes who have been extremely dedicated to the sport of bodybuilding.
