I can say hand on heart, that music is the one thing that keeps us sane. Music creates a common bond between the great people of our country, it brings memories back to life, lets us relax and have fun, something we all need in the rat race of life. As a singer/songwriter i can't stress the importance of maintaining community radio, it brings us together, it gives us a sense of pride and gives you the opportunity to hear our new, exciting, raw music, for the first time. Lets pull together, keep our great cultures alive and be proud of who we are.

Radio should not just respond to existing taste but act as an enabler to develop taste. Facilitating simple market forces does not dischgarge our cultural duty. To safeguard the joy of life we should allow choice and diversity and make sure there are alternatives to the dull sludge of homegenity. The lowest common denomenator of taste enlivens the palate of no-one's existance!

Community is a dying art, Radio is a means wherby the community can hold together and Music is the way we can identify with our community. We have a culture and a community spirit in Scotland that is slowly being eroded, this station is one way of showing that we, as a people, still care and want to hear what our young musicians and songwriters want to say.

CMR is an outstanding station that deserves every accolade that comes it's way. Scottish music and Celtic music in particular is as strong now as it has ever been, let's keep it that way.

This is an important service in a genre that is sadly overlooked and neglected by most of the main stream media. They do a superb job of spreading the word of all categories of folk & traditional music.
