It's the only source for broadcasted good quality Keltic music that I have, also the interviews with the musicians are very interesting. In addition to this, music is a form of culture, and should be protected, fed, nourished and helped to grow so it can enhance people's lives.

I am passionate about our traditional music, and will fight for it's long term survival. I see this as being crucial to the survival of our cultural identity. So much has been lost already. It's important to save (and to add to) the music that we still have, and to revive and re-invigorate those traditions that have all but vanished due to outside, commercial cultural influences. There is probably even less traditional music played on national and local stations today, than there was 10 years ago, and the few programmes left that are wholey devoted to this, have to fight to retain their place on the airwaves, in this increasingly commercial culture. Stations like Celtic Music Radio are vital to the growth and development of traditional music and it's players.

Internet-Radio is so wonderfull! Go ahead streaming good music and fantastic features like the one about the spanish civil war! Yours Heiko

Celtic Music Radio has given me loads of hours listening to a radio station that provides me with the kind of music i like where there was no station covering it before.. It also has given me the encouragement to go out and enjoy the folk scene attending Celtic Connections and other Celtic music related events. The station,s work with young up and coming stars is fantastic and should be encouraged as these talented youngsters always need a hand on the road to success. The information on both local and national and even international folk events is mind blowing well done to a well worth while venture long may we have a station that meets our ears delight.

This station is a seriously good alternative to others and has certainly added to my (now very limited) choice of stations. CMR also plays more to my taste in music, mainly accoutsic rock, accoustic ballads, blues, modern country and so on, which again is something that very few stations do. When not listening to Celtic, I am habitually listening (by apointment) to the few music programs on Radio Scotland or Original 106 in Aberdeen. I am exceedingly fortunate to be able to listen at home and in the car around most of Lanarkshire and Glasgow's surrounds - though broadcasting on digital radio (DAB and/or satellite) would be a great advantage for me. Keep it up guys, you're doing a brilliant job.

Since I have a computer, and internet access, there is almost no end to the different types of music I can find and listen too. But Celtic music has lineage that goes into the distant past and folk music has its humility and simplicity. Those are reasons I love it and the fact that this station is out here and puts out the music without charge makes it very special. Thank you Celtic Music Radio!
