Change the Half-Blood Prince release date back to November 21, 2008

Target:
Warner Brothers Studios
Sponsored by:

Harry Potter fandom is angered to discover that the Half-Blood Prince release date has been moved back nearly a year even after production has been completed to simply make more money in the summer vs a release in the fall. The first release date was November 21, 2008 and has now been moved back to July 17, 2009. As a fan base we need to fix this problem so please sign and let WB know we mean business.

I’m heart broken to know I have to wait until July to see the new Harry Potter. I made a vow to never read the book and was horrified by all the people that loved them. But after seeing the first movie I got hooked and can’t wait for the next one to come around. But now you money hungry scoundrels have let all the fans down. I would recommend a boycott of the movie to other fans but I know I would die if I didn’t see it.

It is important that the owners of the American film industry("Hollywood") understand that we the market, can demand respect as consumers, as well as we obtain it for all the other products that we buy, and also know that we can be a patient and to be understandable when they have big complications or problems in the product development in this case the movie, as dead men of an important member of the cast or the writer, or something for the style, and I put these extreme examples for which the dimencion of the postponement between a date and other one like in this case is enormous, and only something as this, explain that this change was logical but this is not the case, and if it happen something like that we consumers deserve the knowledge of this reason of major force and It justifies the postponement of the movie. For that they gave a date of premiere and did advertising of it and that themselves chose and fixed it considering to be all the variables that they had to consider for the accomplishment of the movie as any respectable company does it when is going to develop a new product, That if they do not do it like in this case they demonstrate that we the consumers do not matter for them at all, only our money that they one way or other, Not mattering the day which they decide to release the movie we will pay as stupid lambs.

You really should not delay this movie until July 2009! By the time it gets released, you are going to have fans that are so upset with you for delaying the picture, that we don't see it at all!!!! To push back a release just because of another movie is stupid! You might as well, just release to DVD~!

Life has become an unpredictible mess, and the push back of this movie has removed one of the only ways that some of us can escape everyday life! It's incredible how the repercussions of the push back have hurt so many people, including the sister magazine to WB, the actors, the audiance, and the Video Game manufacture who stands to lose millions in revenue because the video game cannot be released by the holidays! (I hope they sue) There are also so many other ansilary products associated with this movie which now sit idol on wherehouse shelves. It takes tremendous ego to make such a move, particularly after teasing, advertizing, releasing clips, photos, posters, etc to the public only to pull the movie. I wish these hollywood jerks would stop to think about how their actions can hurt so many! And those responsible should lose their jobs! Lastly, to release this movie so as to take advantage of the "family" movie season is such bunk, because these movies have become too intense for any kids under 8, so it is not really a family film anymore but more of one for the audiance that has grown up with the series! And, we are the ones who wind up with 2-3 weeks of idel vacation time with nothing but junk films to see and videos that never made it to the theatre. Wake up WB and smell the Polyjuice Potion!

i think that is absolutley ridiculous, to make more money? harry potter fans have been waiting for too long, and were so close to the first release date. i think warner bros is too ignorant, just as many people are going to go see it in the fall as they would in the summer, it's freakin harry potter

Alan Horn, you are a liar. Lets see how much WB makes with HP fans boycott all WB films, DVDs, CDs until the half-blood prince is released. That should negate any money you might make in 2009.

I am so angry about this- I just don't know what to say!! If they want more $$$ for 2009, then why not release HBP on New Year's day? Even that wouldn't be as long as JULY!!!!

I am very angry and disappointed in the foolish and downright distrusting decision of the WB studio to make all of us HP fans wait another 8 months beyond the original release date. It is a huge punch in the stomach for me and my friends and relatives, and we wish that the studio had more trust in HP's millions of fans , and more trust that more creative movies will come their way--IF they would only not employ these schemes to milk as much money from the HP franchise to try to patch up any of their previous errors which led them to make this insane decision!!! I feel that WB has no respect for the expectations and long-made plans of all of us who are eager to see Half-Blood Prince AT LEAST once! Plus, WB will be seriously depriving themselves of a huge chunk of revenue and income--not to mention, their reputation-- if they decide to push the release date clear over into next year. Logically, if they are suffering the effects of the writers' strike, the time for the studio to gain revenue would be in 2 months, NOT next summer!!! Sincerely, bottom-fell-out-of-my-stomach bummed-out HP fan

This is one of the lamest things I had heard in a long time.. Obviously people are going to watch this movie regardless of when it comes out.. It's not like people aren't going to find time to watch it even if they have school or aren't on holidays from work.
# 313:
7:47 pm PDT, Aug 25, Jennifer Piniarski, Massachusetts
I have been a rabid Potter fan for years... waiting to release this movie is SO unfair to loyal fans--WB obviously realizes that the diehard fans will see it no matter when it comes out, but to take advantage economically of this fact simply because they don't have any other halfway decent releases for next summer is TOTALLY UNFAIR.
# 312:
7:09 pm PDT, Aug 25, Barb G, Iowa
Boycott the movie if it is not released this November! Since this is all done for money, lets hit them where it hurts!
# 311:

I solemnly swear that I WB will not see any of my money from purchases of movie tickets, DVDs, or merchandise until HBP is moved back to its original release date or after it is released in theaters. If the date is not moved, I further swear to not see it on opening day (as I have seen all of the prior five films) and wait until the following weekend to see the film. I am encouraging everyone I know to follow suit, Potter fans or not, because this is NOT the way a company should treat their best customers!

Movement of this film's release date from November 2008 to July 2009, despite the fact that production has been completed is so obviously about money, Warner Brothers are a bunch of greedy gits.
