change the proposed location for the Providence Animal Control Center

The city of Providence is building a new shelter for homeless pets, currently the plan is to put it in the Field's Point Industrial Park, this would be a terrible location for an Animal Shelter due to several factors: the close proximity of an operating railroad, eighteen wheelers routinely passing through, flood zone area, huge tanks right next door; if the buiding is put there the dog's safety will be at risk due to the tractor trailor activity along with the train startling them and raising already heightened anxiety levels not to mention that very few people would find their visit to the shelter a pleasant experience due to it's dismal environment which may increase the euthanasia rate. There isn't even an appropriate place for volunteers to walk dogs. It will be a disgrace for an animal shelter being built in 2009 to be located in such a counterproductive location. Instead the commission is proposing that the shelter be built in Roger Williams Park (where it was located many years ago), this would be a much less stressful environment for the dogs and a much nicer area for visitors and it's location will encourage more of them; it also will provide a great area for walking the shelter dogs without being concerned about loud dangerous vehicles passing by. We need your help!!
