The reason for this petition is because for low family income that are working and live in the housing we are evaluated on the amount of gross income we take home, and that;s not right.We should be evaluated for our monthly rents on the net income, then we;d be able to support our families and manage.The systeme is pushing the working families to quit working and to go on WELFARE cause after the taxes off our payes, and what they calculated were poor and can;t work .SO WE NEED TO CHANGE THESE LAWS LET;S GET TOGETHER AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ASAP

Being a former resident of Ottawa Carleton I am aware of this criteria. Having been fortunate not to be in this situation myself, I do however feel that yes rents to lower income families should be based upon the NET not Gross incomes. Perhaps if this criteria is changed, then those who take pride in the fact that they are making a solid effort to work will continue to do so, thereby reducing the growing numbers tapping into the welfare system and depleting the economy. Give credit to those low income workers who are making a concentrated effort and contribution, DO NOT penalize them.
