Citizenship for Service

Citizenship for Service Act

Target:
The United States Department of Defense
Sponsored by:
Throughout US history the United States Government has bartered American Citizenship for Military Service. The time has come to do so again. We the undersigned petition the United States Government to legislate and implement the Citizenship for Service Act, a 5 year enlistment program specifically designed to induct immigrants into the US Military in exchange for American Citizenship. We further petition the Citizenship for Service Act act be straightforward in purpose, streamline in practice and fast tracked to allow immigrants to begin induction immediately.

Our country is reaching a point of no return, if we don't act now. Immigrants must be held accountable.

Our sons are required at age 18 to sign up with Selective Services. Why should Americans sacrafice be greater than that of immigrants entering our country?

Do something with the illegals besides letting them live off the hard work of the Americans and legal immigrants already here.

I feel like if the government can educate their kids for free, live off of our welfare rolls since we keep them up.. Let them earn their keep. Once in the military and a citizen then they can take advantage of the US Armed Forces payment for college and have an even better life. America is not anyones free ride. It is a shame when our elderly who worked all their lives get low benefits and need welfare and an immigrant that came here illegally can get fast tracked and my hard working retired mother who had a husband and three son's serve in three different wars gets nothing.

The act should state a 3 year enlistment, not a 5 year enlistment. It's a shame that young people from other countries are willing to fight for us but we are not willing to give them citizenship.

Totally agree! This is an honest way of earning citizenship. I believe there should be NO OTHER WAY!

As a naturalized Citizen of the U.S.A., it was a great reward to have been granted my American citizenship. If it had been required then to enlist I would have gladly done so, to show of my sincere appreciation to this benevolent country.
