My 3 year relationship was plagued by the fact that my boyfriend at the time has a porn addiction and cheated on me so many times merely because I wouldn't degrade myself to do anything pornographic in the bedroom for him. He would always look up free porn sites and try to get us to watch them together, so I would do what the website showed.

From time to time, I use my laptop to investigate the status of a disgusting type of pornography I called "rape pornography." Rape pornography includes rape videos, rape pictures, rape stories, rape cartoons, rape drawings, and other forms of disgusting "rape art" on the internet. Of course, it's never hard to find any of it. Even on Youtube, I can locate videos with revolting rape scenes, real and otherwise. Even though evidence of my searchings inevitably show up on my internet search records, I feel it is a small price to pay for me to know what goes on on the internet. I'm not embarrassed. I'm on a mission. I have nieces and nephews of school age, and for their safety and well-being, I have to know what's out there. I will continue these searches from time to time. Rape is a violent crime, not a titillation. Now it has become web "art." It may be impossible to censor pornography in general from the internet, but rape pornography should be banned entirely. Sorry, but I have absolute no "tolerance" for it. I will continue to search the web from time to time for more revolting pornography. I gladly add my signature to this petition.

Pornography has ruined marriages, lives, and morals. It is nothing but junk that opens a door to more promiscuous behavior and the outcome of it all, addiction or not, is not exactly good. Yes, people can control themselves, but there are more than plenty who cannot. With such easy access to pornography sites, it's not only easy for a husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend to get carried away, but also, children can be susceptible to a world which, at their age, should not even be thought of. I have a strong belief that these types of sites, along with what the media "shoves down our throats", has a lot to do with the way our kids (who will grow to become young adults and one day be old enough to make their own permanent choices) will dress and act and if they think that it's okay to be dressing and acting in ways that will exploit any potential of who they could really become, that is exactly what they will try to do. They need direction and structure to mold them into a wholesome human being and let's face it, without those things, being a "slut", or having sex with as many girls as you can is a lot easier than going to school for x amount of years and finding a career (granted, I am touching on parenting more-so than pornography, but I am doing so to depict the importance of what certain influences can lead to). So if the parents use their free time to watch pornography, who is to say that their children aren’t going to stumble upon it easier than a household where pornography isn’t frequent. The worst part is that the kids might think that this behavior is okay, which directs us to a culpable source: Pornography. Another point I have is that I have been in a relationship where pornography and sex was the number one asset to my partner. Needless to say I ended it quickly, but a valid point is that our relationship wasn't going to last based on how sexually active or creative it was. My mother brought me up right and I believe in delayed gratification, working hard to earn an honest living, and making myself valuable. I learned this because my mother didn’t bring strange guys home or surround my growing world with sex, and because of that, I thank her. I thank her for caring; for knowing what the world outside our walls was like, and learning that making me worth something by working hard is much more gratifying. That is exactly what we need. People who have potential to become a positive influence in this world, help people, make a difference, and hopefully do it while doing something that they love; But we can’t get the message across that they mean something bigger than they could imagine with half naked woman running around on TV and practically on your doorstep as well. It’s everywhere you look, and pornography is just the beginning of it all. I guess I am mainly targeting the concern of children growing up with pornography available at their fingertips that may or may not know any better. But to those adults who choose to watch pornography will impose a different life for them if they continue to fill their minds with garbage and allow themselves to think and act in unfavorable/unacceptable ways. Pornography is selfish and will always be selfish. There is no honest commitment, love, compassion, dignity, decency or praise to come out of this. There is nothing good to come of such vulgarity except a short lived thrill of sexual impulsion. I guess it all comes down to (for kids and adults) how strictly you were brought up or (for adults) how much self control you have. Many of these internet porn sites are causing major problems. It's too easy for children to access and many sites promote child pornography, rape, and other despicable acts.
