Because I want a better world.

I spend every morning on Care2.com and I love it. The website is fantastic, full of interesting information & ways to make a difference in areas that I am passionate about. I can voice my most abrasive opinions, and they are not only met with respect & common feeling, but geuine support & understanding. Today, after signing a few petitions, I stopped and asked myself, "How can people in general be so cruel, inhumane, and ignorant? Am I the only person who is sick of the human race on a grand scale? Is there ever going to be any coming back from these mistakes being made on a daily basis?" And then, I realized: every other member of this site is passionate about an injustice in this world just like I am. So, I started this petition. I want to see how many of us can band together and say, "I've had enough." Whether you're saying it to your country, your fellow citizens, your neighbor, or the whole world, you are not alone in saying: "Ignorance is not bliss, beauty is not skin-deep, and the planet is not our play-thing. Every life matters, no matter how big or how small, and I'd rather be a human being than a human doing. I want to see the oceans as beautiful for my grandchildren as they were for me. I want to see human equality, not just in my own country, but around the globe. I want to see a world getting better instead of worse. I want change." Maybe, if enough of us can come together (as we often do as members of this site), we can use that information to show, not only one group, but many, many organizations around the world that together we can truly make a difference.
