Dog parks are great and are needed for our growing limited-space dog owners. With zero or near zero-lot living spaces dogs are receiving the consequences of their owner's limited excercise space. However, there does not appear to be a balance between existing use of parks today and the increasing needs that our children have. So, instead of putting both children and dogs in the same physical area why not utilize space in areas unsuitable for children such as space in the utilities zones or in spaces unused through the railroad tracks. Just too many unused spaces to start putting our children in harms way....

It is very important for some dogs to be able to run and socialize. Dogs are great companions and friends. I will never be without a dog and I hope, always a place to go with her.

The amount of square feet allowed for dogs, when we have *millions* of dogs and many more millions of pet owners, is absurd - and grossly disproportionate! Whining and dog-fearful non-animal people forcing laws against pet owners and dog freedoms is short sighted and discriminatory! And not representative of any community's populus! More open space and leash free areas are required for dogs! Not a small square thatch of fenced space where dogs can feel trapped and fearful and overly-reactive, but large open spaces that support relaxed play.

allowing our dogs to run free and socialise with other people and dogs will make them better dogs. Most cities around Cupertino already have a dog part, why not Cupertino ?

Cupertino needs to support its dog citizens by offering them a park option. Residents should not have to depend on the services offered in our nearby communities.

I would love to see an off leash dog park in the city of Cupertino. It will add more of a community feel to the neighborhoods as well as the city. Let's make Cupertino and even better place! Let's make it more dog friendly!

Please provide access to well-maintained parks for dogs. Having these facilities ensures that dogs have a clean, safe place to play and become well socialized. This benefits both dog owners and non-dog owners alike. Surrounding communities have already made this part of their communities. Menlo Park's Nealon Park is a good example of how Park Dog Hours can work. Please consider joining those communities that care about the health and safety of families, pet-owners and their dogs. It is irresponsible not to have a place for so many homeowners with dogs to bring their pets to exercise in the safety of an enclosed, well-maintained area.

My husband and I have two dogs and they are very much a part of our family. Being able to take our dogs somewhere and to be able to spend time with them in the open enjoying the day would be invaluable. As responsible dog owners, we understand that exercise and socialization are important for our dogs' physical and mental health. Dog parks function not only as places for dogs to get exercise but also as a place for dog owners to meet and share information on dog training, health, and other issues concerning owning and raising balanced animals. We have attended various other dog parks in neighboring cities and are surprised that Cupertino does not have any.

Woot GO Cupertino. We need a dog park in Cupertino. My house is very far from the closest dog park. It is a couple of miles away so I can't possibly walk my chihuahua there.

We love dog parks, our dogs love dog parks, and even our little baby loves going to the dark park. Dogs need placed to play also, which is why it would be awesome to have a dog park in Cupertino.

As a responsible dog owner living in the South Bay, I've signed this petition to express my support for a dog park in Cupertino. I lack for dog parks that are big enough for my Golden Retriever to run and play. It is my hope that the Cupertino City Council and Parks department will support responsible dog owners by putting in an off-leash dog park so residents and visitors have a clean, safe, legal place to exercise their dogs and interact with others in the community.

Dogs do need an offleash area to socialize with other dogs and run off all their pent up energy. There aren't nearly enough off leash dog parks in the area!

I strongly feel that we should be able to make some allowances for having 'dog time' in one of our Cupertino parks. Linda Vista would be a great choice, either with set hours, or a set location.

Would like to suggest using artificial turf - what a difference that makes - like the Saratoga Creek and the Bucher Park dogparks.

I am the owner of a certified therapy dog, Tahoe. She brings me great joy, as I am sure other dog owners must feel about their own pets. I consider myself a responsible dog owner, and I would like to see a more pet friendly community in Cupertino. Having a place to socialize your dog also socializes the dog owners. I believe that in creating places for people to come together for a positive common experience we build a closer community, in this case, the dog owner community. By creating opportunities for dog friendly interactions, we help build more responsible dog owners. And in having more responsible dog owners, you have a happier and healthier community as a whole.
