Debra Read, South Carolina
My name is Debra, I'm 54. In June 2006 I was diagonosed with parkinson's disease. Being diagonosed with a chronic progressive illness like Parkinsons's disease (PD) changes your life forever. I've learned that raising awareness about PD helps educate people about the symptoms and also demonstrates that my disease does not define who I am...having said that, I forget Sometimes and I experience moments of anger and sadness during days when I struggle the most, and I really get to "missing me. I'm loosing my enthusiasm, interest and motivation when it comes to doing things. I don't enjoy social activities as much, because of the imbarrasement I feel as the symptoms progressively become worse, but I'm working real hard at coping with these issues.. I don't understand why we don't see enough attention towards awareness on Parkinson's disease. Please say "Yes" to "Cure Parkinson's" commenorative U.S. Stamp. |
