David Letterman's sexist and disgusting remarks concerning Sarah Palin and her 14 year old daughter are beyond deplorable.
"2. Bought makeup from Bloomingdale%u2019s to update her "slutty flight attendant" look"
He then went on to compare the 14yr old to the Elliot Spritzer prostitute after making a joke about the 14yr and statutory rape.
Some will blow this off as satire.Rape in any form or advocation of such is never funny, and NEVER satire. Neither is sexism. In a time were women still fight for equal pay,we have stepped aside to allow such misogynistic acts go unchecked because of a woman's political ideology. As a woman who work's in a male dominated field it is extremely disturbing to see feminism take leaps backwards in the name of "Progress".
Put your political ideology aside and join me in solidarity against misogyny and attacks on children by the Elite of this country.
Thank you

Women have been oppressed for so long. We do not need this. And for rape to be joked about is just terrible. If he had a little girl that age maybe he would have reworded that comment.

Letterman's child was born out of wedlock--correct? Not the child's fault--did Dave knock the mother up during a commercial break? I will be contacting program sponsors to suggest he be fired.

My wife and I really liked Letterman. Listening to his jokes on Palin are generally taken in stride, however, this round's picking on little Willow who went with her Mom to Yankee Stadium for a day of fun, has hit us badly. NO, not this time. He misspoke egregiously and after the press firing Imus whom I thought also misspoke, this was 100 times worse. In the Imus case there was no direct person targeted. In this case, Letterman crushed an 11 year old. Shame on Letterman. Shame on the Network for sweeping his TRASH under the rug. Shame on all those who side on the face of TRASH. Unless Letterman is fired, we will boycott the network.

Mr. Letterman reminds me of an insecure 8th grade kid telling jokes to his like-minded friends in order to make himself feel well-liked and popular at the expense of the people he is trying to degrade. Not funny back in the 8th grade; not funny now.
He makes me gag!!! Yuk!

It was a totally ugly remark David Letterman said, no one has the right to make such an ugly remark about a 14 year old girl. He is sick.

I saw a replay of his comment. As a father of Daughters his joke was tasteless and crude. Had I or any one else made that comment in a public forum I would have lost my job. He should lose his. I do not accept that he meant to be talking about the 18 yr old instead of the 14. BS, He screwed up and it is to long past time for an appology. He should be fired. But the NBC bosses don't have the guts to do what is right. Imus was rightfully fired for his tasteless crude remark and so was Mark Madden and Justin Gimelstob. Letterman should go, do public service, and maybe someday resurect his career.

David Letterman should be no different than Imus. He is lucky. If it had been my daugter I would have met him in the parking lot. Just another example of an arrogant celebrity Democrat.

I was/am not only appalled, but as a woman greatly offended by David Letterman's Joke regarding Palin's daughter. It is irrelevant as to which daughter he was referencing, he crossed the line. Politicians put themselves out there and know what they are getting involved in, not their children. In the past politicians' children were off limits as it should be.
Letterman's actions are a reflection of CBS, show the public you possess ethics and morals by not allowing "anyone" to make jokes about children.
Be the change!

If a republican made a similar comment, the entire liberal world would be up in arms! He has no class what so ever.

Letterman does need to apologize if it were sincere but it would not be sincere, in my opinion. However, he can pretend at least. CBS needs to can him and now.

Look people, D.L. is the epitomy of liberal. No one is immune from comedians if they think a laugh can be had, however, there are areas that are tabu and this is one of them... not to mention the bad taste factor. The sad thing for Dave is that this joke was not even funny to anyone. The net result is the obvious fact that this is political not comedic. I guess Dave feels that he must help the Obama camp maintain the edge they are rapidly losing. Palin is the winner here, hands down. This has lost Letterman my respect and my viewing. Years ago I used to think he was crazy funny, but over the last several years I have come to the conclusion that he is just crazy. It's retirement time Dave.

I think not only David letterman needs to apologize but CBS needs to also apologize. We have a double standard in the news media. Obama made a point to say that his family was off limits so then this should apply here also. In fact The preisdent should speak out about this and also call for Letterman and CBS to apologize...

I see a celebrity using his fame to further the democrats campaign against republicans. This type of behavior would have resulted in SEVERE punishment, perhaps inprisonment or death, just 50 years ago. I am appalled that our morals and respect for others has disintegrated this much. What a prick!

I am appalled at David Letterman's sexist, disgusting comments about Governor Palin and her 14 year old daughter. Such comments about any woman of any age are not acceptable but demeaning. He has shown complete and utter disrespect for women and girls everywhere. He then went on to make light of his comments by further joking about it in what I assume was supposed to be a lame pretense of an apology. He wasn't apologizing; he was purposely pouring more salt on the wound. To say the least, David Letterman crossed the line as he joked about criminal sexual activity being perpetrated on a woman. At the very least, he should apologize. At the most, he should be fired.

Mr. Letterman's comments have no place on the National airways!!! This is totally inexcusable. He claims to be a father, but this should disqualify him for the position!!!
