Declare Tijuana an Antibullfighting City

Bullfights in Tijuana, Baja California have experienced an ostensible decline over the recent years, one reason being the demolition and removal of "El Toreo," the once long standing bullfighting venue located Downtown. One marker for the ring's failure was the owner's lack of commitment to promote it and the events it once rallied.

Septmeber 6th will mark the last bull killing celebration at The Monumental "Bullring by the Sea." There was tallied only five fights during which there are six kills. Why such a reduced number of these "fights"? One reason is that the seaside venue simply lacks the facilities to sustain a booked season or "temporada" which either often or normally claim each and every Sunday until its conclusion. A major concern for the individuals who care about animal being welfare is that a replacement for "El Toreo" will in certain respects be revived even if its sometime later in the future, although this general feeling is yet at the same time questionable, to the optimistic relief of many.

The people who sign this important petition do not want such revival to happen, and not only that have been hoping for a very long time for bull killing events to simply stop in Tijuana. And too beyond that, to be illegalized and recognized as being such, with higher hopes for this Border city herself.

With tremendous thanks to the Internet great strides have improved the lives of jeopardized and abused animals. The hearts behind these signatures do not feel that the only the animals they can speak for are those in their own countries, and know that bullfighting is a horrible and without purpose abuse of the rights of animals and a human being's volition.

Let's make this the last year we've had to endure this tragedy and by next  thanks to ourselves, discover this ever persistent, costly bovine holocaust a conquered issue of the past.

We are asking the Government in Tijuana to stop and consider the advantages in declaring itself opposed to bullfighting, in any and all forms such as Jalapa has done and rise up to humanity's par.
