Dear President Barack Hussein Obama:
We, the undersigned know that when you were introduced by Chris Rock, you claimed "I am running for president because i am tired of reading about Jena, I am tired of reading about nooses, and i'm tired of hearing about a justice system that does not serve justice". We would like to present you with an injustice. The prison industrial complex is absolutely inhumane; in fact, to share a devastating statistic, while no one deserves to be punished, jailhouse lawyers are punished more than gangsters in the prisons.
It is also bad enough that if you apply the exonerated population to the prison population, you have 524,747 innocent people in jail; how bad is it to have somebody in such an inhumane institution who, what many factors say, didn't even commit the crime he was accused of and had unfair hearings?
We, the undersigned, are not appealing to the United States of America, we are appealing to any iota of humanity within your heart.
Please make the right choice.
Thanks for reading this letter. Your consideration is greatly appreciated.

I am a friend of Mumia. I know the man and know he could never kill a man without justification. I believe he was framed for murder by the Philadelphia Police and DA's office. I know him to be a kind, peaceful and intelligent human being. I believe he has suffered enough and should be released. |
