We, the people of NY, hereby do demand the resignation of ASPCA President Ed Sayres. Ed has demonstrated that he no longer has the capacity to act in the best interest of the animals in their care.
One of many examples is the case of Oreo. The MIRACLE dog, thrown from a six story building, and LIVED. After getting her broken bones fixed and her health restored, Mr. Sayres believed her to be a danger to society and ordered her euthanasia.

This is the most disgusting story I've heard - GET RID OF the head of the ASPCA and change their name to ASCA - since cruelty is what apparently they are really about! What a damn shame! I can't believe what I just read ! To choose euthanasia over a chance at a wonderful, new life is unreal. Ed Sayre has no business heading the ASPCA or any other animal organization. I'll make sure my donations go to support an organization that believes in rehabilitation, not euthanasia.

We had a similar situation at our local shelter recently. A dog that had been there 2.5 yrs & going to be killed, was offered a safe haven w/a legitimate local rescue organization. A request was made in writing several times as well as by phone. Requests for either never answered or denied. the dog was killed and the director of the shelter stated the dog had been given every opportunity. NOT TRUE! She was never allowed to leave the shelter to see if she could be rehabilitated and she wasn't even a dangerous dog, as they claimed. Sayers & all others like him should be banned from heading organizations w/regard to animals.

Oreo looks just like my rescue dog Bo, he was tied up and left to die by someone who tried to fight him. He is a gentle dog and wouldn't hurt anyone thus he was abused and abandoned. All dogs deserve a life - this dog is no different - save pets NOW - resign Mr. Sayres!
