Diocese of Arlington - Investigate the Seton Miracles

It is time for the Diocese of Arlington to open an investigation into the extraordinary events known as the "Seton Miracles."

"The events that took place in the sleepy D.C. suburb are extraordinary. In the entire history of the Catholic Church, there may be no greater occurrence of weeping statues and other physical signs of God's presence through the Blessed Virgin Mary that what took place on the outskirts of our Nation's Capitol in 1991 - 1993" from the book "Seton Miracles"

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, in a recent speech in Annapolis Md, cited a case of a priest in the Arlington diocese who was said to have the stigmata. Statues of Mary and crucifixes appeared to weep in his presence. Reporters for The Washington Post did a story and were unable to find an explanation for the strange phenomena. The events came to be known as the Seton Miracles.

Justice Scalia asked, "Why was't that church absolutely packed with nonbelievers, seeking to determine if there might be something to this" The answer was obvious, he said with disdain: "The wise do not investigate such silliness."

The Ministryvalues.com would like to know why the Diocese of Arlington in Northern Virginia has refused to investigate the extraordinary events of the weeping statues as Justice Scalia has now encouraged them to do.

Shockingly, Ministryvalues.com has just learned that the Chancellor in charge of the original investigation, Monsignor William Reinecke, committed suicide a few months after the diocese halted its investigation into the weeping statues following charges that he had sexually abused two former altar boys.

Please sign this petition to open  a new investigation into the miracles of the weeping statues of St Elisabeth Ann Seton parish.  It is time for the diocese to act responsibly (and in accordance with canon law) in this important matter.   To learn more about the extraordinary event go to the article titled "When Statues Weep"
