For over 225 years the United States of America had absolutely no use for anything remotely resembling a Department of Homeland Security and we most certainly does not require one of them now, as its function is to prepare us for living in a dictatorship by reminding us of how afraid we are to be of our own shadow. To this end, I recommend the disestablishment of the Department of Homeland Security, returning airport security to those in charge of airports and the Coast Guard back to Transportation. I believe FEMA has already been separated from them. This department has not made our country any safer and all it does is stifle more and more of our essential freedoms in the name of a so called security. Ben Franklin said it best when he stated by surrendering a little freedom for security, you neither deserve nor get freedom or security. As a result of this, I will probably be singled out and harassed whenever I try to fly anywhere, but that is a given, but at least I%u2019ll be in good company. This is no longer the country I defended. I want the old one back, and I%u2019m not the only one! I really don't expect much support, as the American Revolutionary Spirit may not be dead, it most certainly is comatose.
