DISMISS ALL CHARGES AGAINST COBRA STAUBS

Florida Bondsman/Licensed (currently suspended) Surety Agent, William "Cobra" Staubs is currently facing charges of with False Imprisonment while revoking a bond on accused Capital Sex Offender, Daniel Snodgrass, 20 March 2009.

Cobra faces up to five years behind bars for a third degree felony, charges pressed by Daniel Snodgrass, 54, who faces possible life in prison (or death) if convicted of capital sexual battery on a child under 12 and lewd and lascivious molestation. In Daniel's case, his alleged victims are a 9 year-old girl and her 16 year-old sister whose father brought them to his (Snodgrass) home for unicycle lessons. In addition Daniel Snodgrass is also accused of sexually abusing the 9 year-old girl after tying her to a bed and taking pictures of the child and her 16 year-old sister dressed in lingerie he selected for them to model. To date it is unknown if pictures of the two children were ever distributed. When Snodgrass was asked about the sexual assault charges against him. He claimed he should be given a polygraph test because he was being "set up" by the girls, their father and his (Snodgrass') ex-wife.

Snodgrass, free on a $78,000 bond, was to stand trial 22 June 2009. Strange as it is, his trial has been rescheduled and now will not be held until AFTER William"Cobra" Staubs trial for False Imprisonment. When asked if it%u2019s routine practice to allow an alleged sexual predator free on bond in a capital case, the state's attorney claimed it may have been the practice of the last administration but today it would certainly be opposed. (Some claim Snodgrass' court date was rescheduled because they have lost or can not find the girls.)

Continental Insurance Company representative, Mr. C.E. Parish, an agent and bond underwriter for Continental held the bond for Daniel Snodgrass. Cobra received the information Snodgrass had violated his bond order, alerted law enforcement he was going to arrest Snodgrass and transport him to Putnam County Sheriffs Department for detainment. Cobra met with Putnam County Sheriff's Detective John Merchant, lead missing child Haleigh Cummings investigator; a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigator and a assistant state attorney. During the meeting outside the BI LO in Satsuma Cobra was told, "We don%u2019t have anything on Snodgrass, you can talk to him if you have a bond issue that%u2019s a civil matter." Cobra told the officers what Snodgrass was up to and what he (Cobra) planned to do and they didn't object.

Accompanied by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Cobra handcuffed Snodgrass at his home in Satsuma. Shortly after Cobra arrested Snodgrass, Continental Insurance Company Representative, C.E. Parish instructs Cobra to release Snodgrass and while being recorded, Parish apologizes to Snodgrass claiming the bond revocation was a mistake and in error.

C.E. PARISH: HEY, HOW YA DOING
SNODGRASS: LOUSY RIGHT NOW
C.E. PARISH: OK, THEY'RE GOING TO RELEASE YOU, AND YOU'LL BE FINE AND EVERYTHING ELSE. I THINK IT'S A MISUNDERSTANDING IN ALL THIS COMMUNICATION GOING ON. DALE JUST CALLED ME AND SAID YOU'RE FINE, YOU'RE OK, AND THEY TELL ME THAT YOU'RE ALL RIGHT. SO JUST KEEP UP WITH DALE AND KEEP IN COMMUNICATION WITH DALE AND CHUCK AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE, OK?

If such a mistake was made why was Cobra charged and why is his freedom being threatened? Why is it okay for Snodgrass to deliberately attempt to enter an establishment knowing children are present, a clear violation of his bond agreement and not have his bond revoked? This is a person who is accused of horrific sexual acts upon children. He should never have been allowed to bond out. It is my opinion Cobra will discover and prove Snodgrass and another registered sex offender, who will remain nameless for now but lives in the same trailer park, have information relating to the abduction and disappearance of HaLeigh Cummings.

HaLeigh Cummings has been missing for six months and the Putnam County Sheriffs Office and Florida Law Enforcement are no closer to finding her today than they were six months ago. The only person who has actively searched for HaLeigh is Cobra. He has faced resistance to his presence at every turn in this investigation. The public was instructed to, "call 911 if you see Cobra Staubs" who are the "CRIMINALS" in this case and who are the VICTIMS? This is a complete miscarriage of justice and Putnam County officials need to drop any and all charges against William "COBRA" Staubs and join the effort to locate HaLeigh Cummings. Cobra has given his time, all his money, used every resource available, called in all favors and now he may join the criminals he assisted in locking up by going to prison for five years.

This is nothing but another deterrent in the search for HaLeigh Cummings. Another circus side show to take the focus off Putnam County Sheriff's inept attempt to find this sweet little girl. Enough is enough. Put the focus where it should be ON HALEIGH CUMMINGS.
